Will the rightwing echo chamber EVER get tired of lying?
I am absolutely bowled over with disbelief watching the Drudge, NRO, CNSNews, WND, ect ect echo chamber claim that Clinton and Carter did the same thing.

WHAT is the philosophy there?

They may be a lot of things, but they're not that stupid.

They KNOW that the Clinton & Carter Executive Orders <1> aren't giving the same wiretap permissions as Bush did.

All I can guess is they're trying to create a cacophony of bullshit hoping some of it will stick in peoples brains like a bad song you can't get out of your head.

8. Bingo, you get the prize. It's not a secret if you tell people about
it. Think they will get that? Any kindergartner would.

12. Good point...
..but most folks would be easily placated over that by Bush yapping about the need for secrecy.

The fact that there's no legal comparison between what Clinton/Carter did and what Bush has done is the most striking point I think. And it's the one that the rightwingnut echo chamber is ignoring but will be commented on the most in the MSM I believe.

Notice how the Bush admin defense hasn't claimed anything about a Clinton or Carter precedent! They're already realizing it's not going to fly, but the fact that some repuke congress members HAVE made the bizarre claim will get some play.

5. Much like the bully, they will lie until it no longer works
and with half the population believing anything Rushie says, I see a long future in the field of lies and spin.

6. If you repeat a lie
often enough people will believe it. No matter what we do now...6 years from now, wingnuts will be repeating this.

7. cacophony of bullshit hoping some of it will stick in peoples brains
Yes, you have it there. I am able to watch Fox news for the first time and the first program I watched this week was a discussion of Bush impeachment. The blustery windbag speaking against it repeated a couple of times that what Bush did was perfectly legal, and then so fast almost everyone would miss it mentioned the words 'outside the US'. Of course the whole illegal spying thing is about inside the US. So he covered his ass, but said 'outside the US' so quickly and so cleverly that most listeners would not have even noticed it. All they would have heard is that it was legal, legal, legal.

10. No, but Rush and O'rielly are starting to sound crazy
Listen to them - high pitched whining and real anger. They're losing it.
