Guess there is a war by us liberals on Christmas
However, my war is with all the commercialization and not with the birth of Christ. The following from a Conservative Alert warns of a Michael Moore-type documentary questioning the very existence of Jesus. Hmmmm...if there is no Jesus, then how will all those Right-wing hypocrites make money off the faithful???

This CONSERVATIVE ALERT is a special message from Focus on the Bible Ministries:

If you had a Once-in-History opportunity to help prove the truth of the Bible, would you take it?
ALERT: Still don't believe there's a "war on Christmas" by leftist groups in America?
Take a look at this recent press release we received from the atheist organization "Beyond Belief Media":

"Beyond Belief Media has formally declared war on Christmas, the December 25 holiday in which Christians celebrate the birth of the mythical figure Jesus Christ... 'Wherever the mythical figure Jesus is celebrated as if he were real, we will be there with an information barrage. We will undercut the idea that there is any point at all to celebrating the "birth" of a character in a fairy tale.'"
You read that right. Not only is the "war on Christmas" we've warned you about REAL -- they're even attacking the basic fact that Jesus Christ was EVER BORN at all! They took out ads in the New York Times and USA Today, and they're calling Him a "mythical figure" in a "fairy tale" -- but they're going even further:
Now they're pushing a new Michael Moore-style "documentary" which Newsweek magazine says "lays out the case that Jesus Christ never existed"! Calling this travesty The God Who Wasn't There, the movie is also highly critical of "the modern Christian right" and, as they so tolerantly explain, "explores the dangers that religious belief poses to society."

WE TOLD YOU SO. This is how far the radicals are willing to go in their attacks on faith and religious values -- the values that made this country great and gave us our absolute standards of right and wrong.

They aren't just stopping at taking prayer out of the schools, the Ten Commandments out of the courtroom and the courthouse, "under God" from our Pledge of Allegiance, and "in God we trust" off of our money.

Now, they not only want to take Christ out of Christmas -- they want to take Him out of existence!

WE CAN FIGHT BACK. And providentially, I just received a letter from an old friend, Dr. Ed Bez of Focus on the Bible Ministries, which gives us a GREAT way to start fighting back: to help PROVE the TRUTH of the Bible, starting from the very first book!

Please read this letter from Dr. Bez, and make your most generous contribution to this effort TODAY!

Sincerely,

William Greene, President

5. I happen to be one of the "faithful" although in a different way than
the Evangelical fanatics. I am quite spiritual but don't attend churches because they give religion and spirituality a bad name. (And Jesus for that matter) I didn't used to feel this way about churches but most of them have become absolute houses of lunacy!

I don't know of anyone that is offended by "Christmas." Saying Happy Holidays has been around forever. And it is said more to include the New Year celebration IMO than to EXCLUDE Christmas.

I think these people just cannot tolerate the fact that they will never be able to convince everyone of their chosen religious beliefs. I say this because I have been accosted by one of these nutcases for saying I am a believer that does not attend church.

Apparently, they don't believe that is a believer. I MUST be a pagan if I choose not to attend a church service in which I have to listen to a supposed "man of God" preach hatred of Gays and everyone else who doesn't believe EXACTLY what they believe.

Yes, I actually left a church because a pastor told his parishioners that those that did not believe EXACTLY what he believed would not be received in Heaven. During that speech he also bashed gays and "white magic" and even Ouija Board users. I thought I had entered a time warp and ended up at the Salem witch trials!

6. What is it with these people?
My husband tells of a time when he was a little kid when his family was visiting friends in PA and they went to church. The minister said that only people who believed like them would go to heaven. My father in law stood up and said, "That's not the truth," and herded his family out of the church. He and his wife were Rosecrucians, so that didn't surprise me.....

7. I did the same and wrote a letter to the pastor as well...
Next week one of the "faithful" whom I happened to work with attacked me with finger wagging at work! While I managed to hang on to that job for a while longer, frankly, I just couldn't stand to be in the same room with her anymore. My boss was, to say the least, unhelpful. He NEVER called her on it and, in fact, told me to try not to offend her!

Frankly, I am sick to death of these people feeling they can trample all over others religious freedoms!
