It will take a courageous whistleblower who knows inside of spying
issue to come forth (at great personal sacrifice, I might add)and expose just what and who was spied on under Bush's usurpation of authority.

2. That's what I want to know!

For some reason, I don't believe they were doing all this illegal surveillance on terrorism suspects. They have never been concerned about keeping this country safe from attacks. All they care about is their own power and I think they may have been spying on what they perceive to be their 'true' enemies. Anti-war groups and political opponents. John Kerry called into Ed Schultz today. I'm not a big fan of Ed's but I wanted to hear Kerry so I listened. Sen. Kerry made some comments that seemed to imply that he suspected them of spying on his campaign. Maybe I was just imagining but it wouldn't surprise me a bit. I noticed how the Bush campaign always seemed to be one step ahead of Kerry's all the time.

3. Well Kerry's an old pro at this...
He's been spied on by the best of them so I'm sure he'd know.

Nixon had him spied on when he joined the Vietnam Vets Against the War. I read somewhere that they'd forget to pay the phone bill and the FBI would pay if for them so that they could continue to listen in.

4. That's right - COINTELPRO!
They're doing it again!

Hey you think we could get Agent Mike (rumored FBI agent spying on DU) to pay all of our cell phone and Internet bills?

Comparing the Vietnam War and now with the Iraq War...or Nixon and Bush the Bushies hate it when we draw parallels.

6. John Dean's book "Worse than Watergate"
Really details not only the parallels between Bush and Nixon, but how much WORSE it is now. He demonstrates how this current admin. is the most secretive ever and how executive powers have been expanded in a detrimental and permanent manner. It's chilling. And Dean was Nixon's counsel so he should know. :scared:

7. Yeah I already own that book and read it about 2 years ago.
I mean NOW in the newspapers or on TV while the current scandal is happening.

8. Yeah, same here
I'm seeing a little bit of that but for the most part they seem to be allowing the Republicans to wave the bloody 9/11 shirt. Terra! Terra! 9/11 Changed Everything!
