Isn't Frist voting No on ANWR a slippery slope for him????
He usually walks step and step with the WH, and I know he did for procedural reasons, but can't the DEMS come out now and scream Flip Flopper or something like that.

1. He does it on every cloture vote they're losing
It's strictly procedural...as was mentioned in your other thread on this subject.

2. I don't think so - it is a powerplay - the GOP admires that,
and I don't think the DNC can sell it as 'flip-flopping' - maybe?

3. I gotta admit
I would love to see commercials talking about how Frist voted against a defense bill for our troops. Problem is, we Dems are stuck with too much intellectual honesty -- we know why he did it, and there's something in our souls that won't let us shade the truth that way.

5. this is just a procedural matter
he votes against cloture so he can call for another vote.

7. He voted for it before he voted against it
as a procedural matter to enable him to bring it back to the floor for reconsideration.

8. Actually, considering the average voter couldn't understand Kerry
when he voted for the $87B before he voted against it, if he runs in '08 I think we could certainly run an ad that he voted against the troops and let him try to defend it. Sadly, most people can't/won't look into the details...
