The Irony of Red States, Terror and Homeland Security
Let's be candid. Any area Bush carried in the election is unlikely to be a target of terror attacks. The less likely a place is to be subjected to terror, the more consumed it is by this mad dash to secure the US through any means, legal or illegal, deemed necessary.

Find some town with 300 people in the middle of Wyoming, and you'll find your supporters for the entirely bogus and ineffective War on Terror.

The areas that are at risk, the major cities, are BLUE areas. They live with the real threat, but they don't lose their perspective. They don't fall head first into some shell and pea game by a street hustler named BUSH.

So we have American policy for dealing with terror run by those who are not at risk for terror.

1. Just like the Red state Senators.
They may be a majority physically, but they represent far less than half of the population.

2. Yet ask the red staters about really securing dangerous places
like nuclear plants and they don't seem to care one way or another. I bet if I asked folks today if they know what precautions have been taken at the nuclear plant in Russellville AR, none would know-and would look blank as to "Why would that make a difference on terrorism?" I kid you not.

3. It's amazing isn't it. Look at the Presidents who were assassinated in
office. Always the ones trying to do good for the nation and ALL of its people. Think of all the Contra wars and S. America and who were the people to be killed and BY whom? Think about Rabin of Israel, trying to make peace for real. What is it with people. Do they hate doing good? Do they hate trying to BE good? The only thing that gets the RW riled up is taking away their weapons of mass destruction: guns, corporate pollution, their ability to axe social programs, military weapons...threaten these and they go beserk. But if you talk about wanting to be a peace-maker or helping people they want to kill you and anyone who might support you.
