Arlen Specter: "Let's not use this as an occasion to attack the president"
BLITZER: Here is what I don't understand. Maybe you can explain it to me because you know something about this so-called FISA Court, this Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act Court which is right in the Justice Department and has been basically a rubber stamp. I think rarely do they ever disapprove a request for a sympathy subpoena, for a warrant to go ahead and issue a wiretap. Why not just use that procedure. Why do they need to go beyond that, especially since they could go ahead, if there was an emergency and do whatever they wanted to do and they'd still had 24 to 48 hours to get that kind of authorization from the FISA judge?

SPECTER: Well, I'd like to inquire as to why they didn't go to the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court. They have said that there were too many and they had to act too fast. But I think that's a real question they have to answer. When Senator Feingold says the president just made up a law, let me say again, it's not a rush to judgment. We're on a stampede to judgment. I hope one thing we do not do is politicize this. Let's not use this as an occasion to attack the president. Let's not use this as an occasion to attack Democratic senators who have already said they knew something about it but didn't act on it. Let's try to find out in a calm, cool and collected way what the facts were, what the facts are and how we correct it.

BLITZER: You're going to have hearings on this.

SPECTER: I intend to.

1. Sounds like they got to him.
Senator Sphincter has strayed too far from the official line lately. He must have been warned.

2. Why not ???
Bush broke the law.

The only question is if congress will file charges
and impeach the evil-doer.

3. One should NEVER "politicize" The Prezzydent pissing on the Constitution.
He's doing it for our own good, ya know.

The in-country spying musthave turned up some nasty dirt on old Arlen, huh?

6. Let's use the occasion to ask for bu$h's resignation.
Given that he's shown no contrition over his crime.

7. If Bush broke the law, he must be impeached!
It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure that one out.

Coming from the same man that gave the world the "single bullet" theory in JFK's assassination, Specter cannot be trusted with anything.

8. WARNING please -- disgusting photo warning
This isn't an "attack" of der bushita -- this is an "I told you so" --

We have known that bushita is a lying sack of shit -- who is willing to do anything at all to get his way -- because we know that he is just a spoiled rich brat who has others clean up his messes.

bushita has broken the law -- and to him the Constitution is toilet paper.

We want him in jail for a very long time.

Making bushita responsible for his own behavior isn't attacking him.

But then the bushita gang probably has blackmail material on Sen. Sphincter.

9. Specter's no moderate... he needs to go!
I get tired of hearing what a "moderate" Specter is. He votes the Repuke line 98% of the time, and smooches Dumbya's ass. He does nothing while they close the Phila. Navy Yard and Willow Grove Airbase. He was going to reform the electoral college (Yeah right). He needs to go almost as much as Santorum!

10. Excuse me? What do you want, Arlen, a hug?
This and other actions of this administration are not forgivable, Bush and his cronies have been coasting along scott free for almost 6 years. The time is long past to take action against these self serving, deceitful warmongers and profiteers. Enough already.

11. What really pissed me off was when Specter
was trying to defend what Condi said this morning. He said "that was just a 30 second sound bite". How can she explain it in 30 seconds. Well, Mr. Arlan Specter, that's how most people get their news, you stupid jerk!
