1. libertarian, anti-choice (but might not force his views),
doesn't like Georgie Butch or his fellow fascists... but I ain't buddying up to any libertarians. they're one step removed from Norquist Neocons in my book.

2. He's not really a Republican
He's a Libertarian that ran as a Republican.

Ron Paul was the 1988 Libertarian Presidential candidate and a pretty smart guy once you get beyond the economic and social welfare policy (or the lack thereof).

9. I Kept Looking at the R
and wondering when they were going to change it. I was sure he was not a Repug. He may be a libertarian but he is voting against the administration which is needed.

12. he's not changing parties and normally i'm not a fan but he
hates the war and will speak out against it and Bush so good for him. He was knee deep in the Clinton impeachment.

10. Ron Paul
He, along with Walter Jones and another Republican (I don't remember his name) appeared with Abercrombie, Meehan, Kucinich, maybe another Dem, today on C-Span expresses their intention to introduce an amendment to the defense bill requiring Bush to define "victory" and get out of Iraq.

13. Ron Paul is one of the honest people in D.C.
He's like a conservative Feingold.

Speaks truth to power.

He was very vocal about not going to Iraq.

15. Whether or not you like Paul's political perspective...
He is a very upstanding guy. While his beliefs about social issues really, really, rub me the wrong way, he doesn't mince his own words and he most certainly can't be bought! I'm certain someone would have found a skeleton in his closet if they could.

16. Here is a link to his web site.
The Blame Game was part of his speech on the floor of the house.
http://www.house.gov/paul/

This is a small part of his speech.
<snip>
How many more years will it take for civilized people to realize that war has no economic or political value for the people who fight and pay for it? Wars are always started by governments, and individual soldiers on each side are conditioned to take up arms and travel great distances to shoot and kill individuals that never meant them harm. Both sides drive their people into an hysterical frenzy to overcome their natural instinct to live and let live. False patriotism is used to embarrass the good-hearted into succumbing to the wishes of the financial and other special interests who agitate for war.

War reflects the weakness of a civilization that refuses to offer peace as an alternative.
