3. It would probably pick up steam after 2006

because how much do you want to bet he will be one of the most requested campain stump speakers for the 2006 candidates. Obama will be lobbied heavily for his endorsements.

Oprah said he is one of the few politicians she will link her name to for the future. Clooney, Oprah, big money opportunities may sway him to get his feet wet and try. I think Obama is wonderful!

4. Why? He said great things on the campaign, but his support for charter

schools is a first step toward privatizing education and seems only a short step from vouchers. That worries me. His vote on limiting consumer class actions worried me. His vote in favor of Rice's nomination worried me.

I was really inspired by Obama's words. Please help me believe that his actual votes will be as good as his speeches.

It costs more than many private colleges to attend per year. Other well known attendees include Steve Case of AOL fame.

9. Perhaps that affects his views on education. If we could afford to send

every child in America to such a school, I might think differently about charter schools. Until we have that type of change in education funding priorities, I don't want money bled out of the public school system.

10. As much as I believe he's an articulate, media-saavy candidate,

the sad fact is that he wouldn't flip any red states.

Which is always my mantra, but I don't apologize for it. We have to flip some of the reddish-purple states to beat Diebold, unite the country better and win a damn national election.

Sadly, Obama's color prevents him from doing so in 2008. Just as Hillary's gender does. We have to slowly gain back ground from the regressive-thinking this country has been catering to for the past five to 10 years - which, of course, means another white guy is needed to win.

I'm not pessimistic, really. I'm realistic and I live in a red state that was blue until Gore. :(
