An appeal to all Democrats and DUer's!
Wouldn't you want to see a debate between Joe Lieberman and Howard Dean?

Wouldn't it BE GREAT to have them running against one and other so all the Democrats could chose one and reject the other?

Wouldn't it BE AWESOME FOR THE PARTY TO have a DEBATE between Jack Murtha and Rahm Emmanuel?

You bet it would be great! Well guess what we have two of their minions battling it out for the SEAT OF HENRY HYDE! 6th district illinois

Tammy Duckworth vs Christine Cegelis!

Pro-war veteran vs Anti-war Dean Dozen!

Pro-Life Catholic vs Pro-Choice Lithuanian

Its DEAN vs LIEBERMAN! Its RAHM vs MURTHA!

So help me do the following...

1)Contact WTTW Chicago Tonight and demand a live extended debate on TV with wide open rules. Here is link. Click on contact us.

WTTW Chicago Tonight link:

http://www.wttw.com/...

click on contact us..

2) Ask the new candidate to debate: here's Duckworth's email:

Duckworth606@yahoo.com

3) Scream at me or a Duckworth Supporter.. oh its fun.. see the consequences of not having a radio or tv debate! :(

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=150x10044

4) Contact NPR, Ed Shultz, Air America, WGN radio and lobby for radio debates. Laura@Airamericaradio.com, Josh@AirAmericaradio.com, vern@edschultzshow.com, ed@edschultzshow.com, JohnWilliams@wgnradio.com-----------------------------------------------------------
I pledge to stop calling her funny names and baby killer, etc if we can do this, I know, I'm rude and a jerk. But Christine is great and all I want is for a debate to happen IN THE LAND OF LINCOLN/DOUGLASS DEBATES!

This will get HUGE national press. We can make it happen! I'm truly excited. If I can just help get this done.
--------------------------------------------------------------

So, in summary, I'm a jerk, Christine is great and were all very interested to see what Tammy has to say.

6. Duckworth will WIN...the Christine woman will LOSE like she did last time
No, we don't want this sort of debate...it would only hurt our party and cause division.

22. Jack Murtha is a RIGHT-WING Democrat...
I'd rather Emmanuel any day of the week. Check Murtha's voting record out...so he told the truth about Iraq, but I've checked out his voting record and you know what...I DON'T like Jack Murtha's voting record.

You don't like Tammy Duckworth but you DO like Jack Murtha? Duckworth is FAR more Liberal than Murtha I'm telling you.

7. For the primaries it is a given such is needed, this is just not the time
with 2006 just around the bend, united we stand, divided we fall, its pretty obvious there are many who seem to be doing their best to divide this party for the coming elections..

What bothers me the most is that it is not the citizens themselves who seem to be so divided but the dem officials...

Its just not what our country needs right now with the Republicans poised to steal an election once again and no one be the wiser believing it to be because the dems cannot get their act together..

3. This is exactly what I keep on saying, thank you for saying it too :)
United we win...Divided we fall.

We are ALL supposed to be members of the SAME political party, and as such we should pull together and go forward as a united front...let's go and get those Repuke Fascists and kick them out!

13. Primaries are for debate...they're not for us to eat our own
There is a specific way to debate, and it doesn't include Howard Dean and Joe Lieberman at each others throats and the Repukes lapping it up.

9. That's what the Repigs did - as much as some hated W, they fell in line
and hence he won. Plenty of RWer's felt W wasn't their man, but look what happened.

Now all of America is suffering.

If The LW is going to wander all over the reservation in '06 and'08, we're f****d again.

11. diversity is the essence of democracy, and so is being publicly
honest about your views and the actions you have taken on issues.

I say, debate, debate, and then let the voters decide.

Maybe we don't want unity and one voice, maybe we want real
democracy, which is to say compromise. And a fair compromise
means both parties feel they gave up too much.

One voice is for fascism. We have multiple opinions in this
country and always will. So we should have representatives
with clashing view points in a democracy.

19. Debate is always healthy; it's the lifeblood of campaigning. I think
that debating is valid between campaigners for an elective position, but not a contrived situation such a Dean vs Liebermann scene.

Here's to Christine!

Edited on Mon Dec-12-05 07:52 AM by MrBenchley
Duckworth is getting national press all by herself, since she is a decorated Iraq war veteran running as a Democrat...along with seven or eight others.

Cegelis, on the other hand, is a disaster as a candidate. She's raised just $150,000 so far and burned through $100,000 of it already WITH NOTHING TO SHOW FOR IT.
