6. Well,
It's a site that's devoted to anti-immigration zealotry. It's called 'VDare' in reference to Virginia Dare, thought to be the first English child born in the 'New World.' Of course, her parents might have been considered illegal immigrants if the Native Americans had had their own Immigration & Naturalization Service going.

As for me, since I'm currently not a day laborer, but work white-collar, what I have to worry about is losing my job to 'outsourcing' via so-called 'Free Trade' deals. In those cases, the foreigners stay home in the Third World and do your old job from there (and get paid a whole less than you did). I'm not sure too many Americans are really out of work because of Mexican immigration, legal or otherwise.

Nice work on your political cartoons, but I disagree with some of your views.

It wasn't new for me, but using it to launch the "immigrant" discussion was.

I don't think the status of immigrants in colonial times has any bearing on how we treat the issue of immigration now. We live NOW, not then, and our solutions have to be designed for now.

It goes without saying that people want to come here, and most have the best of intentions. All that begs the question. We don't have the resources, and we're undercutting blue collar citizens by allowing illegal immigrants to take jobs below legal rates and standards.

My cartoons are political editorials. I don't expect anyone to agree with all of them, or even most of them. If one of five cartoons appeals to a particular reader, I consider that a success. They're designed to evoke response, whether that is laughter, chagrin, or disdain.

As Kipling suggested, I try to dismiss both praise and blame as equal imposters.
