New SurveyUSA Missouri poll, Kerry way ahead, Edwards passes Dean for 2nd

Kerry- 41
Edwards- 17
Dean- 16
Clark- 8
other- 9
undecided- 9

so the strategy here is to continue to forge ahead of Dean and try to come in as close a 2nd as possible. Couple that with a win in SC and (cross your fingers) maybe a surprise win in Oklahoma and we're really rolling.

3. what are you, joe lieberman?
Edited on Thu Jan-29-04 11:28 PM by jenk
hey, we finished behind clark by 700 votes and you didn't hear any statistical tie crap from me.

Edwards is up from 4-5%, Dean is down from 20+, the writing is on the wall

12. There is no statistical tie in voting
only in polling.

Voting is counting every vote. Polling is done with samples, thus the margin of error.

When it's votes, there is no margin of error.

But there's no benefit to argue over third place. Both candidates did well for being from out of the area. Edwards really rode his 2nd place Iowa finish well.

17. It's a statistical tie -- because it's a poll with a margin of error
Edwards got 4th in New Hampshire because he got fewer votes. No margin of error is considered in the vote count.

4. Dean has a good organization in Missouri
and I think he will come in second. Kerry and Edwards just came in. Dean has been there for a long time even when Gep was running because of the delegates. Of course, a good showing by Dean in Missouri would be fine with me. He doesn't have to win but second would be good. Dean is concentrating on Michigan, Washington, Maine, and Wisconsin and will do just fine in the 2/3 states.

19. It's time to stop touting Dean's organization
and/or fund raising skills. It's not getting him votes, and votes are what count

15. I'm IN the south, and no, I don't "get it now"
does Edwards' position change depending on what state of the union he's in? That's some defense.

He was wrong to support the invasion in the first place and he was wrong to try to justify it (saddam was a bad man, wmds not needed) tonight.

He lost me, and I hope he lost a lot of people in SC, DE, AZ, MO, NM, MI, WI, CA and elsewhere.

This is about life and death and honesty. And Edwards is on the wrong side, then and now.

16. So...
If you're in the north, you can be AGAINST the war, but as soon as you cross that Mason-Dixon line the war was a good thing?

Do you not see a problem with that?

There's pandering, and then there's PANDERING.

6. Edwards has said that he doesn't want the vice pres spot
but would he change his mind?

I am just wondering about the Dem voters. Since so many have gotten involved, won't they want to see the pres and vice-pres come out of this group?

I think Edwards wins the Mr. Congeniality award. He also connects with voters on a personal level better than Kerry.

I am ABB, by the way.

9. I heard a good analysis about this no veep spot thing
John Edwards has the potential to win the democratic nomination, why would he say "yeah sure, i'm so insecure about how I'm doing right now, i would love to be the VP"?

be in the VP slot.
