2. maybe there should be a law that controls the amount of money
incumbent elected officials can keep in their "warchest" after an election. That is just an insane amount of money he has saved up.

I understand the majority is individual contributions, but that is a lot of rubber chicken dinners.

6. I've said it before, and I'll keep saying it:
DLC affliation = $$$$$$

This faction is buying our Party's aherence to the Corporate bottom line and ensuring the end to social policies meant to help and protect the poor, minoroties, women and family farms.

A vote for a DLC Candidate is a vote, not only against your interest, but that of the Democratoic Party.

7. We need a flat, publicly funded, equal budget for ALL candidates.
Here. You each get X and that's all you get and if you spend more than that you are GOING TO JAIL.

Oh, wait, I forgot we get no say in how anything works around here. Stupid me. I had this confused with that OTHER America they told us the fairy tales about in skolliwol.

9. I email him that he's a disgrace and he sends me this:
Dear Friend:

Thank you for taking the time to contact me. I appreciate the
opportunity to know your opinions on the pressing issues facing our
nation. Regrettably, due to the huge volume of mail that I receive, I am
only able to research and address comments sent to me from Connecticut
residents. If you are not from Connecticut, you may want to consider
sending a message to the Senators from your state of residence. You can
do so by visiting http://www.senate.gov/ for a link to the web sites of
each member of the United State Senate. If you are currently residing out
of state, but are still a Connecticut resident or have a connection to
Connecticut, please be certain to use your Connecticut address or indicate
your Connecticut connection in the first paragraph of your email.

I value having the benefit of your thoughtful concerns, since I do
receive detailed weekly reports from my staff providing a sampling of
comments from across the country on timely issues before Congress.

My official Senate web site is an excellent source of information about
my work here. As you know, you can access the site at
http://lieberman.senate.gov. I encourage you to visit my web site, or if
you have already done so, to return to it often. I am also pleased to let
you know that I have launched an email news update service through my web
site. You can sign up for that service by visiting
http://lieberman.senate.gov and clicking on the "Subscribe Email News
Updates" button at the bottom of the home page. I hope these are
informative and useful.

Thank you again for letting me know your views and concerns.

Sincerely,

Joseph I. Lieberman
UNITED STATES SENATOR

27. He is way to important to send a personal reply to you.
:sarcasm:

I say lets start a "support Lieberman for Rummy's job petition". He can then wear that other face he keeps hidden, you know, his republican face! What a pompous hypocrite he is.

Make him work for it and force him to campaign out in the open.

Make him spend the dough with a good primary challenge

16. Start a recall effort like we did in St. Paul.
Got rid of our Bush-lovin' mayor. We couldn't recall him but we voted him out. In fact, he was brutally trounced in the November mayoral election by a real Democrat. A couple of organizers arranged petition drives, voter registration, protests in front of Kelly fundraisers, wrote LTTEs, spoke on the radio, distributed yard signs. Very effective.

There doesn't need to be a challenger to start a recall effort. The campaign can start now, generate awareness and prime the pump for whoever is the challenger.

18. There's no process to recall a US Senator that is constitutional
Edited on Wed Dec-07-05 07:07 PM by ISUGRADIA
even though some states have a law on the books (CT is not one).

Last effort I can think of is when some conservative tried to get McCain recalled under AZ law but it went no where.

really good and memorable campaign. The will and intent were there. :)

24. I see your point now...that does have the possibility of some good
PR.

Kelly also tried to buy his way out of the mess he was in (1 millon to Coleman's 200k) and that did not work. Ties in to Lieberman having 3.5 million now. Even being outspent 10-1 an opponent could get a lot of national press if she or he was smart.

21. He's the GOP (big donor's) favorite candidate.
I dont know if the progressive left can take him down but I think it will be fun to try.

His whoring for Bush is an act of war to the progressive left.
