I mean, and I don't say this lightly, but are you actually telling me that if, say, 100,000 people died from hunger--including, say, some prominent people of the cloth--that it wouldn't happen?

...or that we don't owe it to Posterity to try?

5. Kinda...
First, I don't think you can get that many people to starve themselves for anything, much less simply replacing Rumsfeld for another Bush choice -- which would likely result in a Rumsfeld carbon copy.

Also, if any sort of hunger strike were to happen, and you actually found masses of people willing to die for this cause, then yes, I think a few would die before anything happened. Certainly not 100,000, but a few. And I don't think Rumsfeld being fired is worth the death of even a single person who is dedicated to the cause of ending the war in Iraq.

Basically, I'm just asking for a more-realistic call to action. Hunger strikes demanding a new Secretary of Defense aren't exactly a real-world application, no?
