Lieberman: Dems "undermine President's credibility at our nation's peril."

Lieberman Calls For Formation Of 'War Cabinet'

By DAVID LIGHTMAN
The Hartford Courant

December 6 2005, 11:43 AM EST

http://www.courant.com/news/nationworld/hc-lieb-warcab,0,1888370,print.story?coll=hc-big-headlines-breaking

WASHINGTON -- Sen. Joseph I. Lieberman, increasingly isolated in his own Democratic party because of his strong support for the Iraq war, today called on the White House and congressional leaders to form a special "war cabinet" to provide advice and direction for the war effort.

The Connecticut Democrat's "Bipartisan Victory in Iraq Administrative Group," designed to take some of the political edge off the war debate, would be modeled after similar panels during the Vietnam War and World War II.

Lieberman, whom the Bush administration has praised repeatedly for his war stance, defended the president. "It's time for Democrats who distrust President Bush to acknowledge he'll be commander-in-chief for three more years," the senator said. "We undermine the president's credibility at our nation's peril."

There was no immediate response from the White House or congressional leaders. Lieberman made his comments to an audience at the Center for Strategic and Budgetary Assessments, a sympathetic Washington research group. The war debate, Lieberman said, is being too poisoned by partisanship.

No going back now.

When the GOP starts to spin itself into self-destruction, you think you're gonna be safe? Just go "back to your roots"?

Uh-uh, ain't gonna happen.

People got loooooong memories.

He had been a little bit quiet lately. I wonder why?

I really hope he is unseated in the next election. He is a worm in the Democratic Party's apple. He ought to just join the Republicans!

It probably would have resembled the debate in the movie 'Welcome to Mooseport' with Ray Romano and Gene Hackman when Romano agreed with everything Hackman had to say.

32. from www.AMERICAblog.com
Lieberman blames Democrats for acrimony in Washington, public disapproval of Iraq
www.AMERICAblog.com

Yes, Joe Lieberman today blamed YOU for the increasingly acrimonious debate over Iraq.

Lieberman, whom the Bush administration has praised repeatedly for his war stance, defended the president. "It's time for Democrats who distrust President Bush to acknowledge he'll be commander-in-chief for three more years," the senator said. "We undermine the president's credibility at our nation's peril."

...The war debate, Lieberman said, is being too poisoned by partisanship....

"We can't tolerate the kind of division that current exists in our country," the senator said. "Why are we fighting among those who have the same goals?"

You see, bipartisanship to Joe Lieberman means YOU need to just shut up and stop criticizing the president. If you would just act like a good citizen and let your government do whatever it wants, unchecked, and without a public debate over the merits of their actions, America would be doing great.

You see, when YOU openly disagree with your president, even when he's caught lying to the country and now wants to leave our troops to die in a quagmire of his own creation, YOU are the one putting our country "at peril." So the acrimony in Washington, according to Joe Lieberman, is the fault of the Democrats.

Joe Lieberman needs to get the hell out of our party. I don't know if he thinks he's running for president or what, but it better be as a Republican, because if he dares run as a Democrat, he's toast.

33. Lieberman
If he doesn't like Democrats, and wants to support Bush then he can change parties, and we can try to find a real Democrat to run for his seat. In my mind Lieberman Is worse than Zeil Miller because as the
2000 VP Candiate, and one of the 2004 presidential Primary candiates
he adds Bipartisam to Bush when we know that Is bull
