More Bad News for New Orleans

The cancer known as rush limbaugh is back on the AM airwaves. WWL AM radio had devoted its 24 hour broadcast to hurricane relief efforts until very recently. I got in my ole liberal pickemup truck while ago and had a malignant fog of disinformation, false patriotism and cheap bravado seep into the cab. As if the citizenry of New Orleans has not had enough tragedy in their lives. For the two minutes I listened I discovered John Murtha is guilty of treason and rush would rather take the word of those in uniform than from the "likes" of Murtha and Kerry. Talent and military expertise on loan from free republic. Another sad day in the Big Easy. Meanwhile our kids continue to die in Iraq and limbaugh and his kind continue to cheer. Too bad its the only way he knows how to make a living.

And of course, his blather is the only kind the military gets to listen to overseas - the move to try to get some kind of counterbalance on the radio got killed by our patriotic senators.

and thanks for asking. We are 25 miles north of the gulf. We got some godawful winds, lost a lot of trees on our one acre lot but none hit the house. Had to replace carpet in two bedrooms on the east side of the house where the water was blown through; about 25 shingles and a little bit of fascia so we did alright. That was one scary 24 hours. Our losses aren't even close to the same league as our neighbors on the Coast in both MS and LA. If someone tells you TV images does not do the destruction justice they are right.

I'm reading a book about Hurricane Camille and after it tore up the gulf coast it did one helluva terrorist reign upon Virginia in August 1969.
