Sharpton doing car title loan ads here in Virginia
I always liked Al-thhis was disturbing (IMHO) to see but hey a guys gotta eat

Al Sharpton, 2004: candidate for president of the United States. Al Sharpton, 2005: pitchman for car title loans.

In commercials airing locally, the ever-colorful Sharpton stands on a stage with an American flag and happily declares, "Finally, there's someone in Virginia who will loan money to people the big guys won't loan to."

"If I felt this is in any way abusive, I would stop doing the ads," Sharpton said yesterday. He filmed three commercials for LoanMax, a Georgia-based company with 150 offices across the country, and said he considers these loans different from predatory ones because the borrowers have assets (the car) but not the credit rating to get bank loans.

2. A guy may have to eat
but I'd expect most of us to have limits as to what we'd do to feed ourselves. I could never have been a hooker, for instance, although that job paid a helluva lot better than anything I've ever done. A temp job at a military contractor also made my stomach do flipflops, and I quit that one in a hurry.

Those title loan outfits are predatory lenders, charging the equivalent of 300%-500% interest per year and targeting poor people and especially the military. Some states have passed laws targeting predatory lenders, and most are considering them. It's loan sharking with cologne.

The Repuglicans who funded his 2004 campaign must've gotten through to him and turned him into one of the pod people.

...Car title lenders give cash to those who own their cars free and clear, with interest rates that can approach 300 percent annually.

"If I felt this is in any way abusive, I would stop doing the ads," Sharpton said yesterday...(He) considers these loans different from predatory ones because the borrowers have assets (the car) but not the credit rating to get bank loans.

That's Al Sharpton in a nutshell!

5. Sharpton's always been in it for Sharpton
actions speak louder than words. To bad he's fronting for a company that exploits the poor but 'm not surprised.
