(Hahahaha) Midshipmen at yesterday's W speech
Edited on Thu Dec-01-05 09:30 AM by underpants
ON EDIT-there was a classic shot like this of high school kids during the campaign directly behind W but it is gone. Scrubbed-the link I had is no good anymore.

Naval Academy midshipmen sleep in their seats as they wait for President George Bush to arrive at the Academy in Annapolis, Md., Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2005. Bush is scheduled to give a speech later in the morning. (AP Photo/Chris Gardner)

3. Are they faking it?
That many sleeping people all together? Maybe it was planned to make him look bad. I see plenty of reasons why people in the military would support him.

4. Fill me in--I can't think of a reason they would support him.
He has used their very lives as a political tool when they trusted him to send them into harms way only as a last resort.

He has cut benefits across the board for military.

He did not supply them with the right armor or gear needed to keep them safe thereby risking their lives even more.

He continues to keep them past their release dates.

He has no plan to finish what he started--leaving them languishing in a death-zone.

He lied to avoid serving in Vietnam showing no respect for those in service.

He ridiculed the purple heart--demeaning those who risked their lives for our country.

What exactly--other than hollow rhetoric does he have to give military?

7. Plenty Of Reasons Why People In the Militayr Support Him?
Only if you subscribe to the notion that all in the military have John Wayne complexes and will buy anything said by anybody whose speeches seem to be directly lifted from an action movie.
