below is the most condescending piece of crap from a so called called "progressive" "Liberal" (DLC), i think I've ever seen dared to be written and it was apparently posted today. I sent this ass an email, and I excerpted Dylan's Master of War at the bottom so that s/he understood plainly where I was coming from when I said :
No there will be no "Democracy Truce" for the holidays here at home, not for families of the dead, or the wounded.
I hope others will let this condescending ass know their feelings as well. You'll have to go to the blog site URL below or linked from the DLC site
http://www.dlc.org/ and click "contact" to email this person. And don't forget to go to Masters of War for complete lyrics. (url posted below)
http://www.bullmooseblog.com/The Democracy Truce "Perhaps the most profound criticism of President Bush was his failure to pursue a politics of national unity in the aftermath of 9/11. Instead, he stuck with the Rovian model of bitter partisan polarization. Unfortunately, now that the President's numbers are plummeting along with the popularity of the war, some Democrats are pursuing their own highly polarized game plan by accusing the President of employing lies to bring us to war.
Some who previously supported the war are kneeling at the altar of the anti-war left begging for forgiveness and joining the call for a precipitous pull-out." =======================================
http://bobdylan.com/songs/masters.htmlCome you masters of war
You that build all the guns
You that build the death planes
You that build the big bombs
You that hide behind walls
You that hide behind desks
I just want you to know
I can see through your masks
(snip)
You've thrown the worst fear
That can ever be hurled
Fear to bring children
Into the world
For threatening my baby
Unborn and unnamed
You ain't worth the blood
That runs in your veins
(snip)
And I hope that you die
And your death'll come soon
I will follow your casket
In the pale afternoon
And I'll watch while you're lowered
Down to your deathbed
And I'll stand o'er your grave
'Til I'm sure that you're dead
