Harry Reid says Chimpy is "stubborn" and "mean spirited"
President Bush is a stubborn man, refusing to adjust failed policies at home and abroad, and acting like he's still running for president instead of serving as one, U.S. Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid said.

"President Bush and his sidekick Cheney have been very, very stubborn and quite mean-spirited at times," Reid said in an interview with the Associated Press.

"I think he should be a commander in chief and not a campaigner in chief. This whole administration can't get out of the campaign mode," the Nevada Democrat said late Tuesday.

"Let them start governing a little bit. They are great at campaigns. Bush's brain, (White House chief of staff) Karl Rove, is a very good campaigner."

1. I wouldn't call Rove a very good campaigner, I call him a...
mean-spirited campaigner and Bush and Cheney the mean-spirited candidates. None of them would hesitate smearing and lying about anything.

10. How well would they campaign if media stopped lying for them?
I think they have a ruthless organization set in place for elections, but not based on campaigning well.

It's based on lying, cheating, punishing and stealing.

2. I think most pugs are mean spirited
I love my siblings, but the one's who are conservative and really rabid about what they consider "all those too lazy to work getting handouts." make me sick. They are against welfare for the poor, but have no problem with welfare for the rich. Their answer to that is that these people keep the economy running. My answer to this is usually a variation on "So, you want to line up the poor before firing squads?" When they think about this, of course, they do not; well, most of them wouldn't go that far.......hmmmm......well maybe one would.

campaign, possibly steal elections, and empty the treasury into the pockets of friends, patrons, and cronies.

Edited to add reference to elections

5. Yes, they aren't interested in governing, just seizing power for looting.
I wish more people got this. Or, if Reid does get it, I wish he'd state it.

6. One can't be too careful, glitch
Reid is saying an awful lot right now. His painting of the administration as mere campaigners amounts to treason in certain circles.

Ya gotta like the way Reid is setting the crooks up for their fall. Of course the gawd honest truth is it may be a little too late ....

8. Oh, I know you are right. I get impatient sometimes (ok always)
and politicians being politic is of course necessary.

But this administration (and taking them down) is like the worst soap opera ever; longest running, nastiest characters, our lives depend on the outcome, and I don't even like soap operas!

7. So do I: the money trails of most conceivable ways of looting are
staggering and there for everyone but the blind, ignorant, and brainwashed to see.

9. That's the one interesting thing about this -- seeing who wants to be
brainwashed. Because you are right, to not see what these looters are doing has to take conscious effort.
I am looking forward to the time when it can be publicly acknowledged and generally understood: these people are thieves and murderers.

13. Many someday some in the MSM will shed light by telling the people
the whole inside story of what has been done behind closed doors and in the open that has been censored.

11. Harry's Right!
Bush is mean-spirited. He mocked a woman who was on death row, Karla Faye Tucker, when he was governor and she was seeking a reprieve.

17. she was young and a serious druggie at the time ...
It was a vicious murder, using a pick ax.

In prison, she became a devout Christian, allegedly, and had a lot of backing in some quarters of that religion.

You're right Harry. He can't get out of campaign mode. That signifies some sort of mental illness.

19. Bring the troop home now!
Federal Reserve chairman Alan Greenspan "lectured Democrats" repeatedly about how reducing the federal debt is the best way to spur the economy, but has remained silent on the matter since Bush took office.

In regard to Iraq, Reid said both the administration and Congress are lagging behind public opinion that increasingly favors a withdrawal of troops from Iraq.

"It's pretty clear we're on our way out. It's a question of when," he said.

U.S. Rep. John Murtha, D-Pa., set off a firestorm last week when he proposed all of the 160,000 U.S. troops now in Iraq be pulled out over the next six months.

"Of the 535 members of Congress, no one is closer to the U.S. military than John Murtha," Reid said of his colleague, a decorated veteran of the Korean and Vietnam wars.

Reid said Murtha's call was consistent with a resolution the Senate approved last week calling for 2006 to be a year of "significant transition" in Iraq.

"Nobody supports the immediate withdrawal of troops. But we now have 2,100 Americans dead ... and the war is costing $2.5 billion a week," Reid said.

"It's clear, with this war, people have lost confidence in the administration."

21. So Reid's saying Bush is growing in the White House
He's moved from evil and stupid to only stubborn and mean spirited.

A couple more years of growth and Bush could reach close to mediocre.
