I've been a supporter since 2003
I admire those who were in the Draft Clark movement, but though I noticed the well-informed and erudite commentator on CNN, I really didn't know who he was. I got interested when he announced and followed him closely as I have been against the Iraqi war from before the invasiona and told my colleagues it would be the worst foreign adventure we had ever gotten into. The I went beyond the Iraqi message to the man and saw something I seldom feel for any in politics -- admiration and respect. I felt that way about McGovern and the elder Bayh (Birch, but not the youngun), but few others until Clark struck something in my heart and mind. I have been an avid CCN poster since and come over and lurk her and post occasionally. Howdy all and God Bless.

2. As I listened to Michael Moore's speech in Flint Michigan
where he called for a different sort of candidate, I thought Of Wes Clark. He has different credentials than most democrats, but perhaps the greatest difference is his ability to communicate the Democratic message with passion and understandable intellect.

3. Plus, he has no voting record that the repukes can use
to paint him as a flip-flopper, abortionist, supporter of gay marriage, etc., etc., etc.

Or any of the other myriad of issues that the pukes have used to drag down Democrats or keep them on the defensive!

4. Wellstone Dem
Edited on Fri Nov-25-05 10:06 AM by Donna Zen
Do you know that Senator Wellstone was a great friend of Wes Clark's? He referred to him as: our generation's Marshall. My friend who was part of the original Wellstone campaign is the one who introduced me to the idea of President Clark, and she has told me many stories about those two. Little wonder that it was Clark who Wellstone quoted when he voted "nay."

I miss Senator Wellstone more everyday. We would be dealing with a very different Democrat Party if the good senator was still with us. Less DLC and more government for the "common good."

Note: for all of those ready to buy the meme that the Democratics who voted for war were just "good politicians," or deceived, Paul Wellstone was in a fight for his job, but as always, did what was right. I miss that man so very much.

6. I miss Paul so much
and his quoting Wes Clark shows that those who thought Paul was anti-soldier were so, so wrong. Paul was the first to be anti-war and strongly and actively, pro-vet.
