Repub resolution to bring troops home on 11/21 failed 413 to 3....
Those three votes were:

Jose Serrano, D-NY (voted to bring `em home)
http://www.house.gov/serrano/

Jerry Nadler, D-NY (voted "present")
http://www.house.gov/nadler/

Major Owen, D-NY (voted "present")
http://www.house.gov/owens/

Probably doesn't mean anything but I am curious, does anyone know the reasons for their stand?

2. No
Not only do I not have any idea, but I can't imagine why the democrats didn't just walk out when that sham bill was put up for a vote. Personally, if I had been Pelosi I would have encouraged all of them to stand and leave.

By voting, it seems to me, gave it some validity. I just hope the rest of the country saw that naked display of power for what it was, BS. We need to get the balance back in '06!!!

4. Shouldn't the sponsor of a bill
at least be required to support the thing by voting aye? Seems like a crock and a waste of taxpayer money to put something like this forward knowing its only purpose is political shitthrowing.

9. Did it really change anything? No.
But, unfortunately, Democrats missed a great opportunity to have shoved this back at the Republicans. I think the best responses would have been:

(1) Not vote - Just let the Republicans vote for "no plan to leave".
(2) Vote "Not present"
(3) Vote "yes"
(4) Votng "no" was the weakest possible option, it made it look like there is no political difference between parties on this issue. Republicans will use this as "see, there's no difference in our positions". At least that can't say, "Democrats voted against the troops, those treasonous bastards".

Anyway, those that watched the debate understand where each Party stands. Those that don't know the difference between Parties...well, I guess they are politically braindead.
