7. 83% NO --- but it is 100% effective....
if used to stonewall a question, for some odd reason. Why has this worked as a tool for debate?

"We need more troops"
"You aren't patriotic"

"There are no WMD"
"You aren't patriotic"

Why has this ever worked??????? But, this type of tactic has worked well for this administration for five years. Rove's telemarketing techniques have served his president well - but not the country.

10. Question itself shows how stupid the Bush defenders' argument is . . .

What's the point of waiting until the troops stop fighting and come home to raise questions about the policy?

But it's typical Republican strategy. Demand that everyone to shut up and get with the program on the basis that "now is not the time to raise questions - that can be done later." And then, of course, when "later" comes, try to shut everyone up with "It's too late now to raise this issue - you should have said something about it then!"

They did it with Florida in 2000 (remember - "We need to pull together as a nation now, we can analyze the results later" morphed into "Oh, shut up and get over it?). They did it with 9/11. And they did it with the Iraq War - they told everyone not to question, give the president the benefit of the doubt and then promised to sort things out later. Now they're insisting that the fact that Democrats did just what Bush et al demanded they do means the Dems are permanently estopped from uttering a peep of opposition now.

They make me sick.
