The 2nd call is much clearer, but the first has some different things.

I refer to this post at TMP Cafe for some of the points he made. I did not write them down myself, but they sound about like what I heard.

This is a post by a candidate from the Jacksonville area, a very inspiring one. He felt enthused, like they were getting someone to pay attention to their pretty conservative area. I hope he got to see Dean Friday night there. I think he did, think I saw it at his campaign blog.

(Thanks for the post, David Bruderly...a link to his website)
Edit to put the actual website, not just the blog.

"At Julington Creek, just across the River, Rachel Latham and her husband Michael hosted about 10 people, giving us the opportunity to listen to the Howard Dean teleconference. Dr. Dean was outstanding and had a lot of goals for the upcoming campaign. The best part of his plan however was a six point platform:

1. Bring back Honesty in Government

2. Create a Strong National Defense and Strong National Allies

3. Create a Strong Economy and New Jobs with Hybrid and Renewable Energy Research and Development

4. National Health Care to Cover Everyone

5. Great Public Education, to Ready Children for the World Economy

6. A Balanced National Budget and National Debt Reduction"

Credit to a poster at Daily Kos for this picture of the Duval County rally giving Dean a birthday card.

1. THAT's what I want to hear
Especially items 3-6. National Health Care most particularly is something most "mainstream" Dems don't seem to want to touch.

Thank you Dr. Dean. Oh, and by the way? Please run in 2008. Please. The current crop of candidates is, ahem, uninspiring at best.

In the middle of a pile of poop we call our "government".

He is like teflon to corruption and his optimism and strength always buoy my spirits.

Jacksonville Jefferson-Jackson Dinner (With Howard Dean Pictures!)
by Bruderly for Congress
Sun Nov 20, 2005 at 07:05:53 PM EST

The Duval County Democrats held their Jefferson-Jackson Dinner Friday, the 18th, at the Haskell Building in Jacksonville. It was heavily attended by dozens of Jacksonville's Democrats, who welcomed the chance to hear DNC Chairman Howard Dean speak. Dave, Pete and I attended the dinner and met a good number of Dave's supporters on the First Coast. We're hoping that will translate to lots of support and votes from voters on the Westside, in Orange Park, and on the Southside who are tired of a rubberstamp in Congress who tried to destroy the economic progress made at the Cecil Commerce Center.

Chairman Dean smiles as Jacksonville-area Democrats present him with a birthday card and sing "Happy Birthday". Chairman Dean turned 57 this past week and asked Jacksonville for a 58th birthday present next year, a Democratic Governor and some new Democratic Representatives.

Give his diary a recommend if you can.
