Ach; they probably won't post it:
http://www.opinionjournal.com/columnists/dhenninger/?id=110007570The boy has simply cried wolf one time too many; people don't believe a word that comes out of Bush's mouth anymore, even though there are still wolves out there.
It's the worst possible situation, and you have nobody to blame but yourselves; you know, for staunchly supporting all of the lies.
"I am beyond caring in the least what weapons Saddam held in March 2003."
Your apathy doesn't change the fact that we were lied in to war based on just the thing you're now so keen to avoid discussing. You people have continually claimed to have some kind of moral high-ground, but it seems to me that the ends-justifying-the-means approach is just amoral. We didn't get cajoled in to the war to 'spread democracy', and you know it.
Iraq is, and always has been, a tarbaby.
At least the first president Bush saw that much; his son isn't quite as bright, I guess. He's gotten us to a place where we're looking at a best-case scenario of pulling out and leaving a civil war behind, or staying there and being caught in the middle of a civil-war.
You can't complain about AQ Kahn, and then turn a blind eye when Bush has Pervez Musharraff over to the Whitehouse for lunch. Repeatedly.
And bud, questioning the patriotism of people like me is just hilarious; it's you guys who've been screwing the Country, and now everybody's caught on to that idea.
Good luck getting your credibility back.
