The corporate kleptocracy of Bush America has hit home for me. I'm moving to a rural area, and I activated pre-paid Tracfone Wireless cell phone service for the specific zip code where I will be living. The Tracfone works fine in the major city I currently live in, but it doesn't work at all in the zip code I activated it for.
So I figured I'd just call Tracfone and get a refund since the phone doesn't work at all in the area it was activated in. WRONG! Tracfone will not refund ANY MONEY under ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. Even if you can't make a single call with the cell phone, they won't give you your money back.
Now, I know consumer law says what you buy actually has to work as advertised. Warranty law also says a service has to work when it's purchased. Companies can't legally just take your money and give nothing in return. Unfortunately, in Bush America, corporations think it's OK to screw the customer even if business doesn't hold up their end of the deal. Lord knows Bush and his pals would never prosecute corporations gone bad. Your cell phone service doesn't work? Too bad, we're keeping your money. Your cable doesn't work? Too bad, we're keeping your money. Your car won't start at the dealership when you buy it so you can drive it off the lot? Too bad, we're keeping your money. Your house collapsed on the day the loan closed? Too bad, we're keeping your money.
That's the environment Bush and his minions have fostered. Let the buyer beware because the government is certainly not going to protect us from predatory and deceptive business practices. And companies have become so drunk with the power to do anything they please that stealing from customers is just another day in business.
Whatever you do - don't touch a Tracfone Wireless cell phone with a 1000 foot pole. They're bad news and they'll be more than happy to steal your money and give you absolutely nothing in return.
Boycot Tracfone, and watch your wallet in Bush America. Our government is more than happy to help the corporate kleptocracy steal the money from your wallet. The only protection we have left is word of mouth and a wary watchfulness of corporate malfeasance.
