B*sh Legacy: Interim Assessment
Edited on Thu Nov-17-05 12:09 PM by Robert Cooper
With so many threads trying to chase down B*sh misdeeds, it can be a bit difficult to get a sense of the massive effect he's had on the history of this time.

I thought it might help all to begin a list of -all- his misdeeds, an interim assessment of B*ush's legacy.

I'll start the ball rolling with a few easy ones:

1. Torture
2. Abu Ghraib
3. Guantanamo Bay Concentration Camp
4. Secret CIA prison camps on foreign soil
5. Torture
6. Deliberately exposing a CIA secret agent, exposing her and her network to retribution, for political revenge against the agent's spouse
7. War with Afghanistan before all peaceful options had been exhausted
8. War with Iraq before all peaceful options had been exhausted.
9. Deceiving America into a war of aggression against Iraq
10. Torture
11. Halliburton
12. Patriot Act
13. "You're doing a heck of a job, Brownie!"
14. Anthrax investigation goes no where
15. did I mention "Torture"?

That's a start, folks. I know there's more, but I'm sure you'll enjoy listing them yourselves.

Feel free to add -anything- attributable to B*sh in the WH, local, regional, national, and international. Let's place -lots- of ammo at the fingertips of the nominees for 2006.

Time to restore some "checks and balances".

2. that's a bit too fine grained....

I think people will step back from the details and Democrats can stand on the 2-3 story lines.

-futile and stupid warfare in the Middle East, wasting lives and treasure because there was one Cold War era dictator the Bush people obsessed about. They didn't (and don't) care about the rest and it's immoral.

-unparalleled scale (but legalized) cheating, pilfering, and theft of wealth from middle class Americans by a corporate mafia. None of it was used for anything socially productive or creative.

-government prevention of social progress by letting bigotry hold control. The result has been an exceedingly embarrassing public life- corruption out in the open, no standards, crudeness and barbarity and perversity, extreme disrespect for citizenship and individual dignity.
