instead of badmouthing the Dems and the Liberals, maybe the Republicans should be pressing Bush to adopt the Democrats' platform and go around the country praising Democrats and Liberals.

I mean, look what his barnstorming did for his plan to "save" Social Security, and that was when his numbers were significantly higher.

And now that the Republicans are realizing that his coattails are more like an anchor around their necks in deep water, they have to come up with some way to be disassociated with him. They are probably fearing the fact that the nation is waking up from its "Here's $300 (or less) for electing me." sleeping pill of 2001.
