Edited on Thu Nov-17-05 12:48 AM by politicasista
According to kerrygoddess (she told me to pass it along). Don't know what time, but it has to be when The Situation Room is on.

He'll be on Hardball with Tweety and McCain too.

5. Just as hard?
I need to send my scale out on the 'just as hard' thing. It seems to be out of balance.

9. Surely...
...I don't have to use the :sarcasm: icon every time I'm being sarcastic.

Especially where the likes of Blitzer are concerned.

3. Hate to say it
But I hope he ditches the 'senatorial' speech, especially afte Cheney's little red meat appearance.

If he wants ANY chance at 2008, he'd damned well better be a partisan attack dog. NO nuance, NO waffling, NO backing down and NO CONCEDING!!!

So, unless he comes out crystal clear...

13. He actually attacked pretty hard during the campaign
the media didn't do a fair job covering him. But, he has been attacking Bush as hard as anyone at least since he returned from Iraq in August.

I hope Kerry is Kerry. In the 1970s, there were many far more fiery outrageous people in the protest movement. But by 1971, things were so polarized that none of these people could ever have won over the people in the center - they had long ago antagonized them. What Kerry had was the ability to say very forcefully what had to be said, but to come across as a very well-mannered, intelligent, soft- spoken, eloquent young man. Kerry could reach those people which is why Nixon was afraid of him. One of the Nixon people on tape even talked about how the protesters couldn't win because of the way they came across.

I hope Kerry does what he did in Monday's Senate speech which is to make the case that Bush misled us - first in twisting intelligence and second (and I think more important) lying about which conditions would cause him to go to war. If he can do this sharply and cleanly, he will accomplish more that a partisan attack dog.

His eloquence and articulateness are his tools and when coupled with his impassioned indignation at what Bush has done he can be a very valuable spokesman. It's also clear he also wants to push the government onto a saner path to get out of Iraq.

4. On with Wolfie huh! This should be something to see!
It appears he is going to be all over tomorrow. I hope he gets a good nights sleep and eats his Wheaties. He'll need all the strength he can muster in order to deal with Tweety and Wolfie on the same day.I am happy to see him getting the exposure, he deserves it.

7. Kerry with Wolf Blitzer? Barf Alert!!!!!!
No, this is not a Kerry bashing post. The barf alert comes because Wolf Blitzer is such a shameless apologist for the crimes of the Bush dictatorship that I seldom watch him. Wolfie is at his worst when he is doing his choreograph pro-Bush dance with that fat slob Bill Schneider.

Watch for Wolfie's loaded questions, they are his trademark!

19. how come any Dems still support Kerry?
after all, the man doesn't even have 20/20 vision in hindsight. he said Bush should have come back to Congress, so why would he say he'd still authorize the war knowing that Bush wouldn't come back????

...anyone want to read a really funny and intense short story on what tragic mistake it was to run him instead of Clark? I was told by a Clarkie mother of an a soldier in Iraq: "I was honored to have read it."

ALL HAIL PRESIDENT TUSH

21. Well... you know...
Kerry gets more work done in the Senate and elsewhere on daily basis than most.

General Clark shows more respect for Senator Kerry than some of Clark's supporters do. It's insulting to pimp your "funny" story in this thread.

having hindsight? also, don't y'all get that it helps to throw the other side a bone to let them save face? ...that means acknowledging why Kerry was a mistake.

22. And Clark had control over what media in 2004?
Edited on Thu Nov-17-05 02:12 PM by blm
Do you really think as protective of Bush as the media had been in 2004, that Clark would have broken through that wall after BushInc put up ads featuring 200 generals and commanders who couldn't "trust" Clark as commander-in-chief?

Sorry, but with full cooperation from the media 2000-2005, BushInc had a plan of attack for every Dem. Even if we ran General Jesus Christ, a plan would be in place to redefine him as an immoral coward.

It took a category 5 hurricane to strip the 5 years of protective layers the media had built around Bush.

30. actually, I do believe he could have broken threw that wall...
with 55 ambassadors endorsing him, any independent voter would have said, "gee, bush, or the the west point valedictorian supreme allied commmander who lost no men in kosovo with 3 master's degrees from oxford who opted to serve his life in the military instead of make a million dollars a year with some cushy office job and who John McCain said of his book: Clark's insights into the nature of alliance warfare deserve wide readership on both sides of the atlantic. ...most people can comprehend that many from the pentagon are full of shit.

26. Just curious, what has Wes' replies been to the attack the dems
have been under for questioning the Iraq war?
I've been reading responses from all of the top dems, but nothing from Wes. Wes formerly being in the military, I would think he would be mighty pissed off about some of the comments coming out of the WH.

I haven't heard a thing from him.
I like Wes alot...as Kerry's running mate.

31. I can attest to the fact that Clark has indeed been outspokenly
defending Dems. in fact, it's so funny you should mention it because I learned about this site from a post on here someone put on securingamerica.com (clark's site) saying how much of a team player Clark his for getting dems' backs without reservation.

so anyone wanna address Kerry not having 20/20 vision in hindsigt?

25. I hope Kerry
states the obvious and does not go into some long explanations. Hell, if I were him I would say," we are losing this war just like we did in Nam." Hell, McCain cannot offer anything to the debate about fighting in Nam. Hell, he was captured, and basically sat out the conflict. Kerry needs to come out swinging against McCain and ask him why he stood so silent when he (Kerry) was attacked by the Swift Boat folks. It is time to take the gloves off and begin an attack on McCain. In closing Kerry needs to turn to McCain and ask him if he will take back any of the accolades he said about Bush in the 2004 republican convention.

28. Will Wolfie joke about whether Kerry's a "good Catholic?"
Wolfie's good for that.

http://mediamatters.org/items/200504090001

In case anyone forgot this:

BLITZER: While they were united today in mourning the death of the pope, U.S. Catholics are a diverse group, as illustrated by two of our Crossfire co-hosts, the conservative Robert Novak, the liberal Paul Begala. Both good Catholics -- I don't know "good" Catholics, but both Catholics. I'm sure Bob is a good Catholic, I'm not so sure about Paul Begala.

BEGALA: Well, now, who are you to pass moral judgment on my religion, Mr. Blitzer? My goodness gracious.

BLITZER: All right, go ahead, go ahead.

BEGALA: On the day of my Holy Father's funeral. My eldest son is named John Paul, after the Pope.

BLITZER: So you are a good Catholic?

BEGALA: I'm serious, that annoys me. I don't think anybody should presume that a liberal is not a good Catholic.

NOVAK: Paul, Paul, Paul is a good Catholic.

BEGALA: The Holy Father is liberal. And in fact, when Carlos was speaking , I was in the green room. Underneath, some producer had written, "Many Catholic doctrines are conservative." Absolutely correct. Many are liberal as well. The Holy Father bitterly opposed President Bush's war in Iraq. He came to St. Louis -- and I was there -- and he begged America to give up the death penalty. President Bush strongly supports it, as did President Clinton and others. Many of the Holy Father's views -- my church's views -- are extraordinarily liberal. The Pope talked about savage, unbridled capitalism, not Bob Novak's kind --

BLITZER: I was certainly not questioning -- I was only teasing.

BEGALA: Okay.

BLITZER: Don't be so sensitive.

What. A. Bastard.

Cheney must have been wringing his hands in fury! Senator Kerry was terrific on Wolfie's show and on Hardball. He was very tough. And he looked so very PRESIDENTAL. Made the bird and the wolf look like wimpy old men sitting across from him!
