The next step. Now that "exit" is firmly in the lexicon of Iraq discourse
the "permanent bases?" question may soon have traction.

Just a thought, but there'll come an opportune time for the bigger picture to be addressed, once we have some real withdrawal of combat forces and combat deaths, which is the pressing issue right now.

"Permanent bases?"

It sure seems to be the logical next step in questioning our intentions in the Caucasus and the Middle East.

1. Long long ago on a distant television channel, they had a clip of
the Arab nation leaders ranting about how they were going to be next after Iraq.... it was a very telling moment... no doubt they are thrilled to learn of the permanent bases.

2. Imagine the surprise when the public realizes that there is no "exit"
because the plan has been to set up these permanent bases to "protect our strategic interests" all along.
