so who is running as a delegate to the national convention
I sent my paperwork in but I won't get picked since we do it by caucus here to determine the slate of delegates

1. I haven't decided.
There is a concern here that some Republicans may do a last minute re-registration so they can run to be delegates here. I'm tempted to throw my name in just to make sure the delegate for my guy is a Democrat.

2. Why not?
Why won't you picked just because you have a caucus to pick delegates? All you need to do is bring along a big group of friends to vote for you. Everyone will have the opportunity to vote for several people, so prepare a short heartfelt speech to win over some of the voters you don't know. Also, arrive as early as possible to meet people before the official caucus starts. We had people at our caucus hand out postcard sized flyers with their names and why they wanted to be a delegate.

Depending on the vote in my district, I'm going to be a Kerry delegate. I'm our first delegate, but I'm too superstitious to count on anything until the votes are cast.

5. I've only lived in the district for about a year
I don't really care--it would be way cool to do it but I still might go to the convention as a volunteer

I want to get more involved with the local party anyway--this is a good start

3. I am one of the four possible delegates for my district
here in Ohio. There are two women and two men only one will go forward depending on how Wesley does here. Once I submitted my paper work I was be contacted by my states Democratic office and told to attend a delegate caucus. At the caucus I had to compete against the others that had submitted forms as well. I had to state my case as to why I wanted to be a delegate for Wesley Clark. In the end they selected four of us.

4. Me
I started the paperwork yesterday.

First step is to be elected a delegate at caucus on the 8th. Then get 35 delegate signatures and the selection is done in May at State Convention.
