Ron Wyden
Could somebody please explain Ron Wyden to me?? How the hell could he have voted with the repugs to deny the detainees in Guantanamo the right of habeus corpus? I thought he was one of the good guys..what the hell happened?

1. Yes, I'm looking for the same information here in Oregon.
Wyden was supposed to be one of the best senators. Jeeze...

3. did you phone his office?
I did early this morning. The local office in Portland. The person taking calls didn't sound surprised by my comments.

5. i was gobsmacked by that as well
especially since it was ron that raised hell and stood up for oregon NG troops when they came into a situation in iraq of reg army mistreating iraqi POWs. and the very odd thing is that gordon smith, the republican senator, voted for it. bizarro world.

7. He's my senator, and I'm really pissed about this.
REALLY pissed.

Combine this with his vote on the bankruptcy bill, and I'm questioning my support of him. Period.

I mailing my hand-written letter tonight.

He'll pimp his "one of 23 senators against the IWR" line at will, but he's AWOL on this issue, and I'd sure as hell like to know why.

Ron Wyden is an enigma. Most of the time, I'm happy with him. I get frustrated when he grandstands, like he did on oil and gas prices. There's a lot of bluster there but not much action.

As a lifelong Oregonian and a Wyden supporter since he was my congressman, I am completely baffled by his vote. And worse, his lack of a cogent explanation.

8. Yep he's gone over the edge
Don't know why-maybe because he's found love and gotten soft? SORRY-I did read he just got married..don't know his previous status. ACTUALLY dammit-it should be the opposite love should make you care more about everyone shouldn't it? Big sigh.

He voted for Roberts too. He never signed the DSM inquiry letter that Kerry sent around. He voted for Condiliar and I have a personal letter on that one "I didn't want to hold her accoutanable for Presiden't Bush's mistakes." HELLO-she's been the biggest cheerleader and liar all along. Is just dumb or evil? That's always my quandry. Okay-not evil-he didn't vote for the IWR, and he's done great work in the past but I want someone that represents ME in there-he's not doing that anymore.

9. He's my Senator and I called and emailed. I was furious.
Don't know if he thinks he's protecting Israel (he's a big supporter) or if he owns war stocks. He also voted for that disgusting drug bill. Another incumbent that votes his interests instead of those of the people he represents.
