Sen. Pat "Stonewall"Roberts: Time to turn in your homework. Where is it?
Phase II is due TODAY. I repeat, PHASE II IS DUE TODAY. No more excuses.

You said you "had your track shoes on". So run, baby. You've stalled long enough.

Frist whined when Harry Reid invoked Rule 21 and forced the Senate into closed session.

<snip>

The impasse was broken two hours later when Frist agreed to create a six-member bipartisan panel to issue a report on the matter by Nov. 14.

Soon after, Intelligence chairman Roberts told reporters the panel was "irrelevant" and that he would hold hearings all of next week, with the goal of releasing the report soon.

"We've been ready since May," said Roberts, who blamed Democrats for bottling up the report by failing to wade through reams of documents necessary to complete the probe. "That's hard work and they flat don't want to do it," he added.

WHERE IS IT? Or will you be spinning the "Excuse-O-Wheel" again, Pat?

2. I think the plan for the process is what is due. I'm pretty sure
Dems were saying that if the process was not well undeway, it was going to take significantly longer to get an accurate detailed report.

4. I guess they'll need another 20 months?
Olaf, I think you may be right, but we're at least due a progress report today, as I understand it.

5. On that I believe you are correct. We need to get the Repubs
out there saying they are doing this work to get the information needed. If not, Reid will tear them up in the eyes of the public...or at least he should.

3. Panel was "irrelevant"
Give them hell Harry! He is right. A panel is just another stalling maneuver by the Republicans. It is time they got down to business and exposed all the bullshit driving this coverup and delaying.

6. I had a lot more respect for Roberts at one time.
Disillusioning to discover he is worse than a partisan hack. At one time I gave most of these people the benefit of the doubt, believing they did believe they were doing what was best for the Country. Affairs like this prove otherwise. Party uber alles, eh Pat?

7. Phase 2 is due next year at the earliest
The panel rpt was due today, but I haven't heard anything about that one either.

From the WP, last week (on the Phase 2 rpt)-

The committee is not scheduled to meet again until next week. After that, sessions will be held as needed, with members and staff not expecting to be finished until next year.

But there are stall tactics in play, too-

WASHINGTON, Nov 8 (Reuters) - The Pentagon's inspector general has been asked to investigate the prewar intelligence role of a planning office headed by former U.S. defense policy chief Douglas Feith, a main architect of the Iraq war, officials said on Tuesday.
.....
However, Democrats on the committee including the vice chairman, Sen. John Rockefeller of West Virginia, opposed Roberts' action and warned the move could delay the Senate investigation of Feith's office by up to a year.

9. His dog ate it.
Really, though, Roberts work to protect Bush while spewing lies about the Democrats and fixing Iraq intelligence make him one mean, nasty SOB. Makes me long for the days of Dole and Kassebaum!

Senate Intelligence chairman quietly 'fixed' intelligence, and diverted blame from White House over Iraq
