About that Bush* "Comeback".
The press is primed for the great "comeback from political oblivion" story for Dubya. They've been hinting at it all week and Bush* has been trying his damnedest to make it happen.

Right now, he's throwing as much shit at the wall as he possibly can to see what will actually stick....so far...nothing has, but the a-holes in the White House don't give up EVER. They're going to keep pitching this week and keep doing it until something catches on.

What they seem to be looking for is something that the "disaffected" Republicans who have left the fold in droves in the past weeks, can rally around as an excuse to keep supporting Dubya.

The tried and true theme of "Dubya being attacked by those mean, old Democrats" is being pushed hard right now. Expect mailings out to the Republican faithful very soon (Remember, Rove was and expert at mailings and mailing lists.) crying that Dubya and all that is "good in America" is under assault by: (pick one:)Liberals, Gays, Feminists, Hillary, the radical left wing, etc., etc.

The next tactic they will try is building a straw man for the Rabid Right to rail against en masse. Some bogey-man....Ted Kennedy is a good guess...Michael Moore is another. (Just as a reminder, our Democratic Party Leadership had better be very skillful in the next few weeks least any verbal gaffe provide the Repubs with their talking points.)

We need to keep attacking on all fronts and force Dubya and the right wing harlots to defend themselves over and over again. We've got our foot on their political throats and we can't let up. EVER!

JMHO.

1. Zogby had a bounce for him, but it rebounded down again
This Rasmussen one will do the same. And then it'll get worse once the Abrahamoff investigation takes full wing.

8. I agree...
"And then it'll get worse once the Abrahamoff investigation takes full wing."

This is the story that'll sink the entire Republican Syndicate. Bush is lame duck...he's pretty much lost all credibility with the majority of Americans. But the Abrahamoff investigation is going to expose the Republican Syndicate and that's going to be the real story over the next year...

3. Oh man, you said it for me!!
I've been thinking along these same lines, ewagner. They want that "comeback" story -- hence all the "What Does Bush Need to Do" headlines, and things posed as "good" or "bad" for the White House, etc...

They'll portray him as a hapless little underdog, just to get that story and lead it along to his Great New Epiphany.

(I don't think they'll have any one scapegoat, though -- I think they're going with "The Democrats" in general, rather than putting any one particular face on it.)

4. Straw man - you mean like gays?
I can't imagine what else they could blame on us. We are already responsible for hurricanes, depression, economic collapse and infertility.

I think they've gone to the well once to often with us. So, who's next?

6. They will blame us for forcing them more to the left
in order to regain public support thus violating their civil rights

7. I think they've played that card -- now they need to trump it.
They layed down some cards about us wanting gay marriage and thus wanting to outlaw the Bible.

(Other cards, too -- weak on defense, fighting with spitballs, hating the troops, teaching gay sex in schools to "recruit," hating all rich people, loving taxes, etc...)

Now they'll pile on from there, and say we hate God, America, the troops, families, financial solvency, and marriage.
