RW talking point(s) regarding pre-war intel
I have posted on other boards about the fact that Dubya pulled security clearances from Congress just after 9/11. I mentioned that Congress did NOT have access to the same intel the prez and his bunch did, as he claims and the media repeats.

Below are a couple of RW responses.
How would you answer these?

==================

Let's just suppose that is all true for a second here. Then why wouldn't Kerry , Kennedy, Clinton and all the other Democrats that agreed with the intel acording to their statements be screaming at the top of their lungs about this.
What the Democrats have said regarding Iraq is public record and they can't change what they said. I have not heard them coming forth on the news shows etc. and saying they were dupped. I only hear this from sort of talk on internet chats and talk radio. Untill I hear Clinton and his top officials and those in congress now come out and explain this I am not buying your point.

==================================

Let's nor forget that the Clinton administration (more than one person and more than one time) was saying that Saddam was a threat and that he had wmd's well before Bush was elected........So I am to believe that Clinton was lying about this the way the left is now saying that Bush lied. You can't have it both ways...i.e. That Clinton was telling the truth about Iraq but Bush is lying about it when both have said the same thing. I mean come on here.

1. Mehlman kept saying that the Congress had the same intel as the admin.
Over and over again on MTP this morning. I can't remember whether he or Timmy said what * saw was more dramatic than what Congress saw. Does dramatic mean it was the illustrated comic book version? Whatever -- Mehlman was spinning away.

#1, they are, but the media wont cover it, so they are using political maneuvers to get action. Hell, 500,000 people marched on DC last month about this and barely a peep from the MSM.

#2, he did, those cruse missiles he sent to saddam by air-mail weren’t love taps, you know? But after that, the UN inspectors were allowed to do their jobs and they got rid of the bad stuff. Whey do they think bush wasn’t very interested in the inspectors reports to be completed?

3. Another point about the "Bill Clinton claimed it" - ask your friend
what his party was saying about Bill Clinton at the time - that he wouldn't have been able to tell the truth to save his life. His group was trying to impeach him for "lying" . . .

4. Here's my response:
We knew that Saddam had "WMD's" after he gassed the Kurds. The response of the Clinton administration, was to have UN inspectors verify that they weren't making or stockpiling WMD's anymore.
Our plan obviously worked, because GWB's invasion proved what the UN inspectors had already told us. It's just that the UN inspectors didn't kill 2000+ Americans, and thousands of more Iraqis to do so.

5. And Operations Southern and Northern Watchs
Clinton with the cooperation of Britain, France, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait conducted subject operations over Iraq for most of the 90's, keeping hussien's air force in the box and allowing the inspectors to do their jobs. Yes, hussien had weapons and Clinton and a cooperative effort of allies worked to neuter him with minimum loss of life throughout the eight years of peace and prosperity. Yes, hussien had weapons, Clinton did not lie he did something about it. Now we have a never ending war slaughtering our kids, ruining our army and destroying the economy. However, slaughtering, ruining and destroying are conservative values, so bush supporters obviously support such a mission and its results. Look em in the eye, poke em in the chest, kick em in the ass.

Conservatives who vote for republicans are the number one domestic enemy of the constitution today.
