Will Dean attack Kerry at the debate?
I am wondering if Dean is going to strike at Kerry at the debate, in order to try and score some points. I don't think the war thing is working for Dean, so I doubt he will use that tired line of assault.

The problem for Dean is if he shows his bared teeth too much, then it further reinforces the media perception of him as a loose cannon. But if he doesn't go on the offensive, then he has the possibility of going down without a fight.

3. It's going to be interesting
I hope no candidate uses over the top attacks. Drawing distinctions is fine, and I expect Dean to do that.

4. Why should tonight be any different?
Dean will attack Kerry. Kerry will attack Dean.

I'm starting to wonder if they won't cancel each other out by the time this is over with. (Ahoy, Clark and Edwards!)

7. He's going to sprout fangs and jump on Kerry.
He's going to grow a lizard tongue of fire and ignite the stage. And then someone will have to call Homeland Security.

I don't know if I can stand to watch without being stoned on valium.

15. I hope not
Becuase even though I support Kerry, I think Dean is a neat guy and I'd like to see him run for U.S. Senate in a few years. If he throws a fit in the debate, his political career will be over.

22. This is patently untrue..Dean has done lots of other stuff
And until recently, had litle reason to attack the stumbling, boring Kerry.

The only times he even talked abut him was in response to one of Kerry's endless, boring attacks on Dean.

Like the time he attacked Dean for saying America is not necessarily safer with Saddam captured--which was TRUE...and Kerry knew it...but he LIED to exploit a cheap, lousy pander in service to his DLC masters.

26. Goodness, I hope not
Kerry received hand-to-hand training in the Navy. If Dean did try to put a hold on him, Kerry would probably execute a painful joint lock and reach down into his sock garter to get the butterfly knife he always keeps on his person for situations like this, and then... :)

Anyway, I confess to some confusion as to what the difference would be between an "attack" and a legitimate pointed question. If, as at the previous debates, Dean makes an icy side comment about Kerry's putative international experience not serving him well in the case of the IWR vote, is that really an "attack", or has it become more of an attack in the wake of their relative standing in the primaries?

21. If he does, it is about time, since JK attacked Dean endlessly
In the other debates, to monumentally annoying effect.

The job is to DEBATE him, and that is what Dean should do.

24. You mean will he criticize him?
Yes, I'm sure there will be plenty of criticism by everyone at the debate.

25. I hope not
I think all the DEMS should be able to express their ideas and display their thoughts on issues w/o bashing each other.
I hate to say this but I even hate when the candidates bash the shrub.
If it's to make a point fine but if ones whole speech is about bashing then what are we really accomplishing?

Tell your issues and your ideas and I'll listen.
