every time he goes on one of those talk shows he is spot on. He is brilliant and effective and efficient with his words; always gets the message out and hits the important notes.

The statements issued from him (the DNC) are fantastic too. He's a tiger and he's fighting for me, for many. Thanks Dr. Dean, many thanks.

I only regret that currently I cannot afford to give the DNC the money that they so deserve and that I would gladly, gratefully give to Dr. Dean's cause.

I love to hear him speak, too. I don't know if that means he should be Prez, or if he serves a greater purpose speaking from his current position, I just know I like to hear his support of working America!

3. he is awesome to hear in person
I have always been impressed by him whenever he is on one of the Sunday morning shows etc. He's always on fire. He just keeps getting better and better too. When he first was running for president he wasn't all that polished, but he really took to a major campaign once he got going. He still is a bundle of fire and emotion a lot of the time, but his ability to get a message across and resonate has really come a long way. Howard is doing big things right now, as are others in our party, so I just find this to be an exciting time for Dems. We are on the verge of breaking through and doing some great things.

Howard Dean has done a great job at the DNC, but I know how you feel about not being able to give any money. I can't afford $1. right now, but I wish I could. Republicans never seem to have that problem, eh?

Already donated a fifth recommendation to this thread! :D

My heart will ALWAYS belong to "Hollerin' Howard." He speaks for me. And I'M screaming, too!

His statements ARE fantastic. And you've got to admit, these three big victories we enjoyed last Tuesday DID come on his watch, after all. That's more than you could say for ol' Terry-baby, who presided over so many losing elections for Democrats. All the fund-raising in the world doesn't make a damn bit of difference if you don't win. To win, you also have to have better ideas and shrewder tactical thinking. And you have to be willing to speak out, speak the truth, hit back, and hit back HARD.

40. Yep
Last weekend we went to a birthday party for a DFA board member, a woman locally who is one of the self-described "Crushies". Among her vast collection of Dean-o-bilia is a lifelike mask (like one of those full-head pull-over Halloween things).

I told her boyfriend that her birthday present ought to be him wearing nothing but the mask, standing on the bed over her, and declaring: "I HAVE THE POWER"!

They laughed 'til they cried. Apparently playing that bedroom game hadn't yet occurred to them.

39. He's the best
IMHO, the first inklings that we might crawl out of the muck came with the attention his campaign in 2004 got. Certainly, Kucinich was espousing even more progressive views than Dean and had been doing so for longer, but it was Dean's delivery and passion that excited large numbers of people. That, in turn, got the press involved, and people started to realize that the country was a mess and most Americans did NOT like where we were headed.

There have been other major drives behind what appears to be the beginning of a return to sanity - Camp Casey and the heartless, soulless response to the horrors of Katrina . But I believe Dean was the start.

I still have my Dean for America poster in my window, just below the postcard from his campaign saying "Together, we're taking our country back."

get sick of Dean! When I get nostalgic, I go to CSpan and watch his DNC winter meeting speech or read the transcript I have saved! I am dead serious.

Today I am thinking about looking on the CSpan site for Fitz's press conference from a few weeks ago! I am in a fighting mood!

one of the things I picked up in New Hampshire when I volunteered there in Jan 04. I still watch that every now and then.

"I'd also like to say that whatever it is that Howard Dean knows, or whatever it is that he eats for breakfast every morning, if I could give it to every other Democratic office holder and would-be office holder, we would immediately become the majority in the Congress and we would have about 35 governors."
