Kerry Web Ad Campaign Launched By Voter Interactive
Democratic Front-Runner Outflanks Dean's Internet Strategy - Launching Banner Ad Campaign Targeting Unemployed Voters in Iowa and New Hampshire

Massachusetts Sen. John Kerry, the Democratic presidential front-runner, launched an advertising push on the Internet in November targeting unemployed voters in Iowa and New Hampshire. Using a clever pitch, the ad banners encouraged people to click and read Kerry's plan for improving America's job market, which was created by Internet
political consulting firm Voter Interactive.

<snip>

Using Flash technology, Kerry's text faded in and out asking: "ARE YOU UNEMPLOYED?" "TIRED OF LOOKING FOR A NEW JOB?" "DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!" "CLICK to learn about JOHN KERRY'S PLAN." Once viewers clicked on the banner they were taken to Kerry's jobs plan for improving the economy, Voter Interactive said. In another ad featured on employment-related email newsletters, Kerry promoted his plan: "This issue is sponsored by John Kerry! John Kerry has a plan to restore jobs in America! To learn more, please visit JohnKerry.com!"

The Kerry effort was a test of Internet advertising techniques to increase the amount of visitors to his website. The ads were specifically designed to appeal to voters who were most negatively affected by job losses during the Bush administration.

1. This is only one tiny example of the Kerry campaign last fall...
which everyone thought was doomed.

2. Yeah, it's like old news, but awfully interesting
while other campaigns were going broke airing TV ads that turned voters off, Kerry was quietly and inexpensively steering the people hurt most by Bush's economy to his plans to get America working again.

3. So...where's the plan?
Is this it:

The first thing John Kerry will do is fight his heart out to bring back the three million jobs that have been lost under George W. Bush. He will fight to restore the jobs lost under Bush in the first 500 days of his administration. Kerry has proposed creating jobs through a new manufacturing jobs credit, by investing in new energy industries, restoring technology, and stopping layoffs in education.

John Kerry has a plan to secure America’s economic future and ensure that workers can achieve the American dream in our changing economy. John Kerry has the courage to roll back Bush’s tax cuts for the wealthiest Americans so we can invest in education and healthcare. He isn’t afraid to crack down on corporations that are hiding their money in Bermuda to avoid paying their fair share and will end special tax giveaways to companies that ship jobs abroad. And he will defend the rights of workers, consumers and shareholders in holding corporations accountable for their actions.

5. That's the introduction to the plan, yes.
But there are a lot more details available, of course: http://www.johnkerry.com/issues/economy/index.html

4. Hey, he's starting to look like Bob Dole
That's an improvement over his recent appearances.

I'm really not exited by this guy. He's part of the problem.

Unless I'm wrong about him NEVER authoring ANY Health Care legislation in his nineteen years in the Senate.
