Voters report problems with voting machines in Roanoke Co.
Edited on Tue Nov-08-05 03:25 PM by Tony_FLADEM
Election day voting is going on across the Old Dominion, but everything has not gone smoothly in Roanoke County.

News 7 has received calls from several voters in at least four different precincts who say their votes for Tim Kaine were not recorded or took several attempts to go through.

They contend the electronic touch screens repeatedly indicated they were voting for Republican candidate Jerry Kilgore instead of registering their intended vote for his Democratic opponent Tim Kaine

This seems to happen every election - what a coincidence.

2. I hope the pollworkers/observers there know about 1-866-OUR-VOTE
It's the new incident reporting system from Verified Voting and they are collecting this data today.

3. I never had a voting problem when I voted in the US at precinct
I do believe my last vote there was for Richard Nixon.

Times have changed.

5. VerifiedVoting.org has county-level information on the
type of equipment used. I was quickly able to find that Roanoke County
uses touchscreen machines from Advanced Voting Solutions (AVS) and
Roanoke City uses ES&S touchscreens.
