I'm worried: non-voters in CA, evangelicals in VA, weak Corzine in NJ
It would be such a great night if we swept these three states, and my fingers are crossed. But we've been disappointed so many times, when Election Days come. I hope our Dems in those states are energized enough by what the Republicans continue to inflict on our country each and every day to go to the polls in evangelical numbers -- and VOTE.

4. We have to overwhelm the fraud.
Only massive turnout will make it obvious that they are cheating. When they have to cheat by 20, 30, or 40%, it begins to become impossible to cheat without big trouble. Sadly, doesn't look like this will be the case in VA (where I vote).

6. I am voting today in CA. That said, I am uncertain of whether our votes
have much meaning any more. I notice that "important" races seem to become "too close to call" on election day, regardless of how the candidate was doing in the run up to election. Maybe this is my own filters at work -- I am not sure. Wasn't Corzine doing pretty well in the polls? But now it's "neck and neck".

I think that's code for "GOP is stealing the votes again". We absolutely need meaningful election reform nationwide, or I fear the GOP will become "the party" and we will have lost democracy as we knew it.

8. They do seem to tighten up. Why is Forrester, for example, even close?

Because Corzine's ex-wife was quoted in a TV ad? What's wrong with people???

Corzine ran effing Goldman, Sachs. He can run New Jersey.

14. The reason is that some people vote on issues like this
If they think Corzine is immoral and sleasy they won't vote for him. I just hope the personal endorsements (and extensive campaigning) by Obama, Dean and Kerry. Bill Clinton also canpaigned which should help - I didn't include him because his endorsement helps on many levels but not versus this charge.

17. I hope so, ED! He's certainly not weak personally --
he's powerfully competent. I've been afraid that the campaign had somehow damaged him to the point that some Dems might not bother to vote.

I voted this morning, but remember how polling had Whitman a loser... I think it will be very close.

see my post for the slime the Forrester campaign dropped in my mailbox:

I would like to have your positivity, but really don't know which way this will go. That last-minute slime may or may not suppress some Corzine voters. We shall see.
