The Republican Plan for Iraq Withdrawal
Actually, I have no idea if this is their plan or not, but it occurs to me that the numbers of US troops in Iraq has been steadily creeping up. Last I heard, we were at 160,000 or so. It used to be 140,000 and had even gone down from that.

So what I see happening is a build-up to a point where they can start bringing them home in large numbers, trumpet the returnees, and **appear** to be withdrawing. This will happen in time to affect the 06 midterms.

This will be their counter to the growing Democratic chorus, based on popular demand from we the people, to get the fuck out of Iraq.

Its the same sad old trick these bastards learned from their oil days. Raise the price till we squeal then drop it back a bit and the sheeple smile. They get a net raise and the sheeple feel 'lucky'.

Am I nuts to think this?

2. Like the way a retailer will up a price, and then have a "sale"
back down to the original price.

No, you're not nuts.

3. Remember when Reagan was taking the oath
..and the hostages were being released even as he spoke? Sneaky, huh?
That HAD to be arranged, if you know what I mean.

4. Democrats Force Bush To Change Course
That could be the headline, but I know it won't. It would require too many people to say something good about Democrats for far too long.

6. I recall they were increasing troops for last month's&December's elections
I also expect that the Reservists' and Guard's contracts are going to be done next year and they won't be able to call those poor guys back again. Then the troop levels will have to drop ~40%.
