Remember how dead Kerry's campaign was last November?
Edited on Thu Jan-29-04 09:41 AM by eileen_d
Reading all of these pronouncements of the death of Dean because of finances and a campaign staff shakeup, I am reminded of how Kerry's campaign "died" last November when Kerry fired Jim Jordan.

Here is just one of the many obituaries for Kerry which were posted with glee on DU mid-November:

"Kerry's Irreversible Error"
http://www.commondreams.org/views03/1111-07.htm

Searching the archives around this period of time produces many, many more.

My point is this: not all wounds are fatal. It's unbecoming to eulogize when the candidate still has a pulse.

Edit to clarify: I am directing this to people who are declaring Dean (or any other candidate) dead now, as well as those who declared Kerry dead back then.

1. Most voters don't begin to pay attention until January
of election year.

2. It makes me sick to see everyone here who thinks Kerry...
Is going to get the nomination! We have had two states with 48 to go. Let the primary process work & stop being like the Damn media whores!

3. That's not what I'm saying

I understand your frustration, but I do not intend to imply that Kerry has the nomination sealed. I certainly don't think so.

Just as no one should declare a candidate dead because of some campaign shakeup, no one should declare a winner after two states have had their say. I like Kerry but I like Clark and others a lot too. I'm all for letting the voters decide! :)
