The media - Dean's "scream" = Gore's "sighing?"
Diane Sawyer last night admitted that the Dean "scream" audio was misleading. You know, the audio that was replayed on tv 700 times in less than a week, and on radio god knows how many times. The media did a hatchet job on Dean, and regardless of who you're supporting, you dismiss this at our party's peril.

Having said that, this is the same media that trashed Gore's every move in the 2000 campaign, all the while fawning over the now-resident moron.

Remember how they spun the debates, when junior could barely put a sentence together vs. Gore's well-thought concepts? Remember the "sigh" event, when we heard Gore over and over sigh "loudly" at the bs oozing from the texas twerp? And it was replayed no end.

A coincidence?

What is the media's agenda? Who are they working for? What do Dean and Gore represent that the media would so blatantly attempt to politically assassinate them?

1. Gore Mopped the Floor with Bush
in every single debate. But you wouldn't know it watching the pundits. That was truly sickening.

2. Don't even try it
Dean has not yet seen 10% of what Al Gore suffered during his campaign. For months and months Dean was the medias toast...a maverick, a money raiser, new people to the campaign etc etc. Now after 1 month of negative coverage mostly spurred by Deans loose lips and his being spurned by Democratic voters you are now comparing this to Gores ordeal. Nonsense.

You're certainly entitled to accept as reality what you choose, but...

Sawyer admitted that the media's version of Dean's speech in Iowa was misleading. And it was played over and over again. This is fact.

In 2000, the media made a huge issue of Gore's "sighing" at one of the debates. And it was played over and over again. This is fact.

I see a possible parallel, which is why I asked the question.

Many of us who have seen what the media has done to Dean since Iowa know that they have tried to take him out. Many of us think the media tried to take Gore out as well.

The bigger question is - why?

3. People will laugh
But, Most of the media is owned by companies that are tied to the Military Industrial Complex. So the upper management know what side their bread is buttered. Cable news is dominated with conservatives.

The people on the screen may be unbiased or slightly left, but it's the editors/producers that determine what is aired.

Plus Cable news is entertainment and must show a profit so they need to draw in the most viewers. How do you do that? Make the news not report it.

Example: Britney Spears got married and divorced in 55 hours. They actually had a psychologist on telling us how it affected her fans. This was news????!!!!?!?!?!?!
