Libby trial judge is black.

Libby's lead trial attorney is black.

The petit jury will likely be predominantly black.

Obviously African-Americans are playing prominent and pivotal roles in this case.

So why can't any of the networks seem to be able to find any people of color to offer commentary and analysis on this trial? So far, aside from Donna Brazile and an occasional black reporter on assignment, I've seen no African American political or legal commentators discussing this case on any of the major news program.

What up with that?

1. Coast to Coast
Talking about tossing Oreos at a black republican candidate. Not once did they even ask about commentary on anything else.

In short, I'm as baffled as you are.

3. Apparently black people can only offer commentary about other black people
If Libby were black, they'd be beating the bushes to find other blacks to go on television and yell at each other about the trial. But he's not, so apparently black folks aren't qualified to discuss him on television.

Ironic that Libby seems to be more open-minded about the skills of African Americans than the so-called liberal media. He's entrusted his life, freedom and future to one, but the network bookers and producers don't seem to think that blacks are fit to speak on it.

Of course, if Libby's lawyer does anything the least bit controversial, we'll probably see the airwaves filled with black people dragged in front of the camera to engage in a food fight for our entertainment and amusement.

7. I don't agree at all. Libby got Wells because he's the absolute best
I don't buy into the notion that highly qualified blacks are there only because they're black - that unfairly diminishes not only the person you're discussing, but assumes that black jurors are so stupid and color-struck that they'll be swayed by the race of the defendant's lawyer and not be able to fairly decide the case on its merits.

Ted Wells is regarded as one of the best, if not THE best criminal trial lawyers in the country. The fact that Libby hired him to save his ass means that Libby knows that he needs the absolute best he can get. His skin color has nothing to do with it, in my view.

2. What I observe about the make-up of the Libby grand jury....
...is that black people in America haven't survived 250+ years of intolerance, discrimination, violence, and bigotry by being idiots.

6. Repugnik Syccophant Media has blacks on the job
Of course, for Repugnik Companies, the only job Blacks ever get is Janitor.

I just posted about even more racisim that the Repugniks are trying to make law, including abolishing the 14th Amendment.

If you aren't seeing Blacks on screen, it's because GE, the Moonies, and the rest of the Repugnik Spin Media Masters, and Corporation Masters don't want Blacks on the screen. Probably fucks up their "White Ballance".

8. All I have to say about the fact that most of the jury is black
is welcome to Washington DC. You commit the crime in DC and yes, you will be judged by black people. If it is a reflective portion of the DC population, it would be 70% minority, I believe.

I never realized this before, but this is a great way to add one more check and balance to our governmental system (anotehr check by The People). Put the seat of our Federal Government in a town primarily populated by those who understand government corruption first-hand. Brilliant.

I wish Bush's impeachment proceedings had the same ethnic make-up. Alas, it would not be so. The only African-American I can think of in the Senate is Barack Obama.

11. There are 42 African Americans in the House, where impeachment
proceedings would be initiated.
