PBS bias
Caught the News Hour with Jim Lehrer last night (Jan 28). Lehrer did a NH primary review with Mark Sheilds and David Brooks in which Wes Clark, who was 3rd in the results, was completely ignored. They showed long footage of Kerry, Dean & Edwards, but not a frame of Wes Clark and only once mentioned his name. Something's afoot here. Particularly since the Clark campaign story is newsworthy on its own: the candidate's first election (since homeroom), besting of  the #2 winner in Iowa, the eclectic endorsements, successful fundraising. Yet even PBS, supposedly above corporate influence, and Lehrer, veteran anchor on public broadcasting, seem to blank on Wes Clark. Has anyone else picked up on that?

1. For the record I've been rooting for Clark
and I saw the Newshour. Don't feel too slighted. The three mentioned have delegates other than super delegates. Also, the Edwards segment was prefaced with his status as 4th in NH, then after the segment (when Edwards claimed he tied for 3rd), Lehrer restated he was 4th behind Clark. But all in all, I think the media is slighting him. My opinion - he is too nice to them.

2. Edwards is frequently omitted
from news stories also, even though he was in this one, apparently solely to embarrass him.

I would bet that the average American voter could not name more than two of our candidates, and they would not recognize a photo of Edwards. They'd probably guess he was Ashton Kutcher's father.
