Disgusting RW slant in AP article "Senate narrowly OKs benefit cuts"
This AP article tries to spin the GOP cutting of benefit programs in the best light.

Senate narrowly OKs benefit cuts

The Senate on Thursday narrowly approved the first cuts since 1997 to benefit programs such as Medicare, Medicaid and farm subsidies, giving Republicans a modest victory against ever-rising government spending(who can be against something that is "modest" and against "ever-rising government"?).

The bill, passed by a 52-47 vote, makes mild cuts to the health care programs for the elderly, poor and disabled, but leaves the food stamp program untouched. (See? the GOP is compassionate, they didn't take away people's food.)

The measure also permits exploratory oil drilling in an Alaskan wilderness area. Five Republicans in the GOP-controlled Senate who oppose the drilling voted against the bill.

There are two Americas, folks.

The America GWB fights for and the America GWB fights. GWB's America believes that government spending should be borne on the backs of the working poor and disadvantaged and the future generations of workers so that the liesure classes can keep more of their millions to spend more on leisure.

1. That's why I'm for Jonh Edwards
He has the message. He knows there are two Americas. The rich have the best medical care, their kids have the best education. This allows the caste system where we have the elitists and everyone else.

My most bitter memory against the SOB Bush was when he first ran and said he would sit all children at the table of plenty in America.

What he has done in reality is to make sure the poor children have NO chance at sitting at the table of plenty. He's reserving that table for his own and his rich bud donors.

3. "Your wife's life support is just going to be 'mildly' turned off."
It will take an extra twenty "mild" minutes to take your father to an emergency room that will admit him after his severe stroke.

I'm sorry sir, but there is no funding available for the back and knee surgery you require, but I am sure the agonizing pain you will feel for the next twenty years while you continue to work to feed your family will be "mild," followed by a "mild" crippling, unrelenting pain that will ruin your retirement in poverty.

need I go on?

5. "an Alaskan wilderness area"
Oh my god, how clever to just avoid writing ANWR or Arctic Refuge. Dont' worry you're beautiful mind about it, they're just drilling in one of those wild places in Alaska is all.

No link, who at the AP wrote this piece of crap?
