Juicy Wesley Clark/Peter Jennings gossip!
From a poster at the bartcop forum: (some is sourced by rightwing Newsmax, but that actually lends a hint of credibility here)

Yesterday afternoon we were called from our freezing positions at the polling place to come pick up some Arkansans back at the Nashua field office and take them back to the school. We agreed only too gladly, happy to spend 10 minutes in a heated car.

We grabbed a snack in the field office and one of the women working the phones (a mover and shaker from Boston I'd met once before) started up a quick conversation in which she said she'd figured out why Jennings had been so personally hostile in his question to General Clark at the debate, regarding Michael Moore.

Peter Jennings's wife left him to marry Richard Holbrooke, one of Clark's good friends and supporters. BAWK.

I just looked it up and it's true, sourced by no less than Newsmax, who makes sure to let us know the ex-Mrs. Jennings and current Mrs. Holbrooke is a big friend of Hillary and a left wing UN and Human Rights Watch supporter, too:

Friends of Hillary Clinton Influencing U.N. Agenda on Children
Cliff Kincaid, CNSNews.com
Wedmesday, May 8, 2002

As the United Nations opens its Special Session on Children, two feminists with close ties to Hillary Clinton will be playing significant roles. Carol Bellamy is the executive director of the U.N. Children's Fund (UNICEF), and Kati Marton, the ex-wife of ABC World News Tonight anchorman Peter Jennings, is a representative for the U.N. Office for Children in Armed Conflict.

--snip--

Kati Marton, who achieved some notoriety as a journalist and author, quietly assumed her post in January of this year. She has stepped forward to promote the U.N. Special Session on Children with appearances on shows such as "The News with Brian Williams" on MSNBC.

She has also been serving on an advisory committee of Human Rights Watch, a group that frequently opposes the positions of the Bush administration in global affairs.

Favors World Criminal Court

Human Rights Watch favors the U.N. treaty creating the International Criminal Court and has strongly criticized the Bush administration's decision to "unsign" the document. It also favors U.S. ratification of the Convention on the Rights of the Child, the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women, the Mine Ban Treaty, and a U.N. treaty to regulate or ban traffic in small arms.

--snip--

Marton is married to former U.N. Ambassador Richard Holbrooke, who was a member of the Clinton administration. Marton also called Hillary Clinton a "pioneer" in the "women's rights" field.

We can get the right to do our dirty work for us. Have them dessimate this info. They have never liked Peter Jennings.

It's obvious he's letting his personal relationships get in the way of his professional responsibilities.

He seemed especially hostile to Clark that day.

5. How big of Jennings to hold Clark responsible
for an affront to him committed by someone else. That's really mature.

6. OMG!
Now we know! EVERYONE needs to know about this. I just emailed Michael Moore and asked him to make it public. I will email others with this info...not that any of them will care. Maybe they will...it looks SCANDALOUS.

Go Wes!

7. Now it all Makes Sense
There was such hostility towards Clark, from Jennings, that there had to be a reason. Now it all falls into place.

This is gold.

But ... is there any way for Clark to benefit from this news without seeming like a whiner? None of the chummy "journalists" and talking heads will touch this with a ten-foot pole, and the Jennings-inflicted damage has already been done.

point to any link showing Richard Holbrooke's endorsement of General Clark? He mentions General Clark in one of his books but I cannot find anything on his endorsement of the General.

on Clark's Campaign....along with Jamie Ruben...who is married to Christianne Amanpour, the only reporter left at CNN.
