At some point during the Gannon/Guckert debacle I got on these cretins email list. Thought you might like to know what they are sending to every Republican Senator. I thought about using their link to send my own ant-Alito message but ironically the "Center for Individual Freedom" won't let you write your own message. Anyway pull on the hip boots, this is how they reach out.

President Bush kept his promise and nominated a judge in the mold of Justices Scalia and Thomas to the United States Supreme Court.
Already, liberal Senators and their allies are screaming over the nomination of Judge Samuel Alito.
Now is the time to get tough! I will tolerate no defections, stalls, delays or betrayals.
I expect every Republican Senator to vote "yes" when Judge Alito's confirmation comes up for a vote.
Contrary to what you read in the New York Times, conservatives are not a fringe element. Conservatives voted for you and placed you in office. Conservatives are your base and we have waited for this moment for 30 years.

Betrayal is not an option and will not be tolerated!

not that they would trust their readers with actual emails, I am sure I won't have trouble finding those. I think if they imagine that strongarming other people's representatives is a good tactic, those Senators might be swayed by rational letters too.

6. Well, I guess on the foodchain of congresspeople's concerns,

it must be ordered something like this:

1. Lobbyists with big money
2. Bullying party leaders
3. Constituents

I see why we constituents might not be able to displace lobbyists (what does a congressperson/politician love more than money?), but surely constituents who speak out could knock the bullying party leaders down a notch.
