Did Karl Rove lie if he told Bush he had nothing to do with it, or was Bush deceiving the American people when he denied knowing the guilty party ?

If I am joe republican pundit sitting on a talk show, how could I possibly spin my way out of that one, other than to change the subject and evade the question. I think this is the one sentence question that needs to be hammered over and over! It's short and to the point. Absolutely no nuance there.
