Tweety and Lott dance around the "should Rove go" topic
Tweety mentioned Rove's dirty politics with McCain and Kerry ("Hardball, not illegal) and asked Lott if given his background and the current situation if he should be Deputy Chief of Staff and making policy decisions ("Svengali on the payroll")...

Lott said that every president has a political advisor, but to go from that to Rove's current position is a "big leap" and that Bush needs some new blood..."some of the greybeards hanging around Washington."

Tweety asked "Should Rove be making decisions on ploicy...BECAUSE HE IS..."

Lott laughed and danced around the subject, but he also DID NOT stick his nose up Rove's backside.

Interesting.

1. Lott doesn't like this admin at all; they stripped him of
his majority status, and I think he's still sore about it. OK by me!

3. Also, Tweety backed Ken Mehlman into a corner--hilarious!!
Tweety asked Mehlman one of his long questions. Tweety's question contained allegations based on the indictment, about things Scooty-boot and Fatboy Rove had allegedly done. Of course, Tweety had made up this question assuming that "Official A" = Fatboy Rove.

Mehlman replied, "Well, if you're going from the indictment, I don't know where you're getting all these allegations against Rove--he isn't mentioned one single time in the indictment."

Tweety: "Oh, thanks... I'm glad to have YOUR confirmation, on camera, and on the record... So you are confirming here and now, on the record, that 'Official A' is NOT Karl Rove?"

Mehlman, of course, knows that Official A IS Fatboy Rove. He retreated quickly and said, "Now hold on... er... ah... I'm not making any such statement one way or the other..."
