Moveon.org Stop Scalito petition BREAKS a quarter million!
So far they've well exceeded their goals, and I am wholly impressed. As of 12:00 noon EST, they have over 262,000 signatures.

http://www.moveonpac.org/stopalito/

That said, I really want to know how they did it. That's a lot of signatures... is this really a monumental grassroots movement?

I shouldn't be so paranoid and cynical, but has anyone been spamming it?

I certainly hope not, and still, good for MoveOn!

7. Maybe DeLay did them
a favor by saying that the judge in his indictment contributed to them. Sort of like Oliely did for Franken.

9. I'm all for it, but...
This is only 0.08% of the US population. Unless they get 10-100 times that many, it can just be claimed that we petition signers are in the extreme minority.

Hopefully the petition can get some good press over how fast the quarter million signed up.
